This can be done remotely without physical intervention, making it highly suitable for modern, adaptable networks 8 - It provides flexibility in optical networks, allowing operators to change wavelength routing on-the-fly, adapting to changing traffic patterns or demands 9 - then we could conclude that ROADMs offer higher network efficiency and scalability 10 - we have 2 types of ROADMs : A- classic B- CDC-F 11 - CDCF : colourless, directionless , contentionless , flexgrid 12 - CDCF provides the highest level of agility and flexibility 13 - through CDCF the ROADM can add or drop any wavelength (color) on any port then any wavelength can be routed to any port without restrictions 14- wavelengths can be routed to any direction from any add/drop port 15- multiple wavelengths of the same frequency can be added or dropped at a node without interfering with each other ,, This enables higher capacity and more efficient use of the network, as multiple users or services can use the same wavelength without conflicts 16- Flexgrid refers to the ability to adjust the width of the wavelength channels (frequency slots) dynamically.
