For #UMImpactDay, our team in Lebanon dedicated their efforts to support two incredible NGOs: Les Restaurants du Coeur and Afel. At Les Restaurants du Coeur, which prepares meals for 500 people, our UMers provided lively entertainment before lunchtime, including card games, backgammon, parades, and dancing. We also assisted with food distribution and table service. At AFEL (Association du Foyer de l'Enfant Libanais), an NGO devoted to supporting children facing abuse, delinquency, and learning and communication challenges, our team offered similar entertainment for the kids and provided a nutritious meal. UM Lebanon embarked on this day with a heartfelt mission to bring joy and smiles to their faces. Yesterday, on July 18th, UMers from around the world celebrated the seventh edition of UM Impact Day—our annual global day of service, dedicated to enhancing the communities where we live and work. This year's theme, "ONE Day, ONE UM, ONE Better World," focused on supporting organizations aligned with our Impact Day pillars of equity, sustainability, and wellness. In the UAE, we embraced an initiative under the "Wellness" pillar, aiming to improve the physical and mental well-being of our community. Partnering with Al Jalila Children's Specialty Hospital, we wrapped and distributed gifts to in-patient children as part of their Wheels for Happiness program and organized fun and engaging activities for kids receiving outpatient care. Through heartfelt interactions, engaging activities, and thoughtful gift-giving, we aimed to bring joy and comfort to these young patients, making a significant positive impact on their day.
