ANDRITZ reported solid business development in the third quarter of 2024 despite the continuously challenging economic environment. While order intake increased from the third quarter of 2023, profitability (EBITA margin) remained stable, and revenue declined slightly. 🌍 Exciting update: We have been awarded a significant contract for the uprating of Malaysia’s oldest hydropower plant, Chenderoh. 🌍 👉 The project, commissioned by TNB Power Generation, aims to extend the plant's operational lifespan and boost the capacity of three of its units by 5%. 👉 The contract, valued in the high double-digit million euro range, includes turbine refurbishments, new generators, and hydromechanical equipment enhancements, along with modernized auxiliary, cooling, and electrical systems. ⚡ This partnership underlines our continued commitment to sustainable energy solutions and is part of TNB’s broader “Life Extension Program” for its plants. 💪 Proud to share: We are supporting a new SOS Children's Village project. ANDRITZ is financing the construction and equipping of parts of the new ‘SOS-girls' residence in Graz. ❓The young residents are children and young women who have experienced crises. The old apartment building no longer meets the standards and requirements of child and youth welfare and must therefore be demolished and rebuilt. 👉 We are supporting a new sustainably designed building that will provide space for 11 young residents. 🎉 Proud to be ANDRITZ: Austrian Federal Minister of Labour and Economic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Martin Kocher, visited our headquarters in Graz this week. The visit highlighted our commitment to innovation and sustainable growth, and gave opportunities to discuss labor law and the company’s role in the green transformation. "We are very honored by the visit of Minister Kocher. Our CEO Joachim Schönbeck stated. "It is a tribute to the good work of our colleagues that he is coming by in person. The dialogue between politics and business underscores the value of such visits in addressing the industry's challenges and opportunities together." 👉 During the visit Minister Kocher, found out more about our apprenticeship program and visited the company fire brigade, the training workshop, steel construction, parts production, plant assembly, and warehouse/logistics. 🌍 Boosting renewable energy: We have been selected to upgrade Norway’s largest run-of-river hydropower plant, Vamma! 👉 The Upgrade will increase the capacity of Vamma's unit 11 by 22%. 👉 This modernization will enhance efficiency and sustainability, reinforcing Vamma’s role in Norway's renewable energy sector. 👉 The plant is equipped with 12 turbine-generator units, including 10 Francis and two large Kaplan turbines. It has a total installed capacity of 343 MW and supplies an average of 1,580 GWh of electricity per year. We’re thrilled to share, that we have been selected by E.ON Hydrogen to conduct an engineering study for a 20 MW green hydrogen plant in Essen, Germany. 👉 This marks our second green hydrogen project in Germany within a year, solidifying our role as a key partner in the transition to sustainable energy. ✅ The study will cover hydrogen production, compression, storage, and trailer loading bays, supporting E.ON's ambitious plans to advance the hydrogen economy.
