We’re excited to share an update from the BioSeparation Forum, where Jürgen Beck and Markus Berg from BoKu University presented key insights into the ECOnti Project. This initiative focuses on integrated continuous bioprocessing to manufacture E. coli-expressed biopharmaceuticals with a significantly reduced ecological footprint. We’re proud that Octave BIO from Tosoh Bioscience - Separation & Purification is being used for the downstream processing (DSP) part of this groundbreaking project, contributing to the innovation and sustainability of the process. Many thanks to everyone at the forum for their valuable discussions and feedback! Stay tuned for more updates on the #ECOnti project! 📈 #ECOnti #Bioprocessing #Biopharmaceuticals #BioSeparationForum #TosohBioscience #OctaveBIO

Accelerated, low ecological footprint, manufacturing platform for continuous production of biotechnological products
Info
The ECOnti project, titled "Accelerated, low ecological footprint, manufacturing platform for continuous production of biotechnological products," aims to develop a fully integrated and automated continuous upstream and downstream process at up to 10 L batch size. This small-scale development platform will enable the industry to develop continuous bioprocesses, implement model predictive control, and perform economic modeling to demonstrate potential cost savings of continuous manufacturing compared to batch-based manufacturing.
