The Energy Globe Award is the world's most prestigious environmental award, which is annually awarded in over 180 countries by the nonprofit Energy Globe Organization based in Austria. Projects focused on energy efficiency, sustainability, and the use of renewable energies are honored. The goal of the organization is to showcase solutions to environmental problems. The founding idea of the award is that we have already found solutions to many of the environmental problems of our time in many areas. These are often local, poorly marketed, and not widely known. The central contribution of the Energy Globe Awards is to bring these important solutions and the innovators behind them "into the spotlight", present them to the broad public and share the solutions to environmental problems. This "world sustainability award" is awarded in the categories of Earth, Fire, Water, Air, and Youth. Earth stands for careful use of resources and raw materials, Fire for renewable energies and sustainable use of energy. In the category of Water, it is about projects related to drinking water treatment, irrigation, or wastewater disposal. Air deals with the prevention of emissions and the improvement of air quality. The Youth category is intended for projects carried out by and with children or young people. The Energy Globe was first awarded in 2000. It is awarded annually as a regional, national, and international award. Both small and large projects can be submitted, and the feasibility in other contexts and regions is also important. The aim of the Energy Globe Award is to create awareness and show that everyone can make a positive contribution. The Energy Globe winner projects serve as examples, which are presented worldwide on the website and in the Energy Globe database. The Energy Globe database now includes around 30,000 projects from submissions from 2000 to 2022. These are always projects that have already been successfully implemented worldwide.

New National #Winner! 🏅 We're hapy to announce that the Safe Water Cube project, led by Jean-Paul Augereau and Benoît Dutartre has won the #National Energy Globe Award! In partnership with "Double Horizon" and "Sourires d'enfants," they installed 11 innovative Safe Water Cube #fountains in Lang Khang and Champassak schools in #Laos. This initiative provides clean, safe #drinking water to approximately 6,700 people, allowing children to #access clean water at school. Each Safe Water Cube fountain, using a non-chemical #ultrafiltration system, can produce 1000 liters of #potable water per hour from any water source #without electricity. For just 0.5 € per month, each school child can bring home a 20L canister of #clean water. The fountains are also #accessible to nearby communities, aiming to #improve health through clean water consumption. Im Auftrag auch großer Industriekunden baut die Firma Wagner in Nüziders Anlagen und Haustechnik. Dabei immer im Fokus: möglichst sparsam mit Energie umzugehen. Allein die zwei jüngsten großen Projekte des Unternehmens senken den Gasverbrauch von Vorarlbergs Industrie um 1,3 %. Um die gleiche Menge Gas einzusparen, müssen 1.000 Einfamilienhäuser ihre Gasheizung ersetzen. Dafür wurde die Firma Wagner mit dem Energy Globe Vorarlberg 2024 ausgezeichnet. Herzlichen Glückwunsch!
