Yesterday’s special opening session at the #Interfaith Forum on #Women, #Peace, and #Security in #Manila set the stage for impactful #dialogue on women’s role in #peacebuilding. 🤝 ✅ Prof. Elizabeth Clark, from the BYU International Center for Law and Religion Studies , highlighted that women are essential to achieving sustainable #peace, with #religion as a core motivator for this work. ✅ Maya Sukar, KAICIID’s Programme Officer for the #Arab Region, shared inspiring examples of KAICIID’s initiatives, such as the Interreligious Platform for Dialogue and Cooperation in the Arab World (IPDC), which empowers women in the Middle East to lead in peace efforts. 🕊️ Contributions from IPDC members, Samira Luka and Hind Kabawat, further enriched the conversation. Participants concluded that to maximise their potential in peacebuilding, women of faith need protection and freedom to live their beliefs, bringing strength and insight to peace efforts worldwide. 🌎 #ICWPS2024 #WomenPeaceSecurity #WPS #EmpowerHer

🌍 Join Us Tomorrow for #University Talks with #KAICIID! As we gather to discuss #Migration in the #WesternBalkans, we wish this event to provide an #interreligious contribution to main international and regional #commitments, such as the #Global #Compact for #Migration and the #EU #Pact on #Migration and #Asylum, by posing a fundamental question: What kind of society do we want to create? 🔍 In our debate on migration, we must go beyond the binary of open vs. closed borders. It’s about thinking of migration as a fact of life. The social and political questions it raises, are ones that concern us all: preserving #human #dignity, supporting #rights at #work, ensuring #equal #opportunities to #everyone, and particularly the most #fragile. 📢 Unfortunately, many #narratives around migration are clouded by #stereotypes and #misconceptions, painting migrants in a #biased light. Interreligious dialogue offers the unique chance to unpack these #myths, allowing us to see the reality of “people like us,” motivated by the same desires for #peace, #security, and #humandevelopment. ✨ Let's engage in this crucial conversation and work towards a society that is inclusive, open, and welcoming for all. Together, we can shape a narrative that honors the dignity of every individual. #KAICIID #Migration #InterreligiousDialogue #Inclusion #GlobalCompactForMigration #EPDF ______________________________________________________
