Lifeblood reports a spike in blood donation cancellations this winter due to cold and flu symptoms. 🤒 Lifeblood urgently requires over 6,000 donors nationally to address critically low blood type levels. Absolute Balance attended the Morley Lifeblood donation centre last week and participated in what was for most of us, our first donation. It was an amazing and empowering experience knowing that your blood is going to be used to save a life and is something that we're already looking to book in again in 3 months' time. 🩸 Whether you're an organisation looking to create a team donation like we did or going down on your own for an individual donation, I really encouraged you to get involved in this fantastic cause. Hi LinkedIn community The 2024 Rio Tinto MACA Cancer 200 Ride for the Perkins team is holding an epic ’24 Hour Cycle Fundraiser’ on stationary bikes in the foyer of Central Park, with cycling kicking off at 10am on Thursday 1st August and ending 10am Friday 2nd August. Come cheer us on as we attempt to cycle our way towards a cancer-free future! Our team will be riding non-stop over a 24-hour period, with each team member riding for an hour then tag/relaying with the next team member who will then ride for an hour, and so on, until we have completed 24 hours of cycling. The opening of the event will be presented by legend, and all-round top bloke Steve Currie from Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research at 9:50am. A big thank you to ABSOLUTE BALANCE Exercise Physiology Group for providing the fantastic spin bikes. We will also have Samara from Wellness Stations providing energy drinks and Tim from eniQ providing hydration drinks. Friends, family, non-Rio Tinto employees are all welcome!
