For National #SafeWorkMonth, Adelaide Oval partnered with legendary commentator Brian Taylor to create a series of videos in his signature ‘Roaming Brian’ style. BT interviewed staff across the business to highlight essential WHS topics, including hazard identification, risk management, psychosocial safety, and musculoskeletal injuries. These videos are now valuable resources for training new employees and enhancing safety awareness. To further promote safe work month, activities and challenges were organised around the weekly themes created by Safe Work Australia, with prizes up for grabs. Activities included an employee scavenger hunt with safety challenges, such as logging hazards and incidents, and workspace safety inspections. These initiatives reinforced the message that “Safety is everyone’s business.” A huge thank you to our WHS committee who did an amazing job at getting our staff involved throughout the month! 👏 #SafetyIsOurBusiness SafeWork SA

Our world-renowned turf is one of the many things that brings international sporting events and fans to Adelaide Oval. Yesterday, it brought Adelaide Oval, South Australian Cricket Association and SANFL staff together for a ‘Day on the Turf’. In recognition of our collective hard work and collaboration, we opened the gates for staff to enjoy lunch on the green, have a kick of the footy, and connect with colleagues. With many staff being passionate about sports, it was a big moment and a unique opportunity to experience what the turf is all about! Hats off to our People and Culture and Retail teams for organising a fantastic event and catering for us. And a big thank you to our Grounds team who welcomed us onto the turf, which we can now personally say is in excellent shape for cricket season.

Our unique hospitality, events and accommodation offering won big at last night’s Australian Hotels Association - SA Branch Awards for Excellence, with the stadium’s renowned Functions & Events division, onsite hotel Oval Hotel and riverside venue Malt Shovel Taphouse all recognised. Adelaide Oval was named South Australia’s best Meeting & Events Venue (Accommodation and Specialist Division) for the second year running. Oval Hotel was awarded the best Superior Hotel Accommodation, in line with its premium boutique offering. And across the River Torrens, craft beer specialist and bistro pub Malt Shovel Taphouse received the Draught Beer Quality Award – an accolade it also received in 2021 and 2022. A huge thank to you all our staff who go above and beyond to deliver the best experience to our all guests! #ahasaawards #sahotel Read more: https://lnkd.in/ghxkkdug

As we transition from football to cricket season, our MTX Club members and Corporate Suite holders went behind the scenes for an exclusive on field event. With front row seats to the ‘pitch switch’, they heard from our incredible Grounds Team about the process. A great way to kick off the cricket season.

Last Thursday we hosted the Australia V China PR AFC Asian Qualifiers ⚽️ The atmosphere was electric with the #Socceroos setting their highest attendance record at Adelaide Oval with 46,291 supporters cheering them on for the win. We provided two sensory spaces for the event, helping our guests with hidden disabilities to reregulate before going back to their seats to enjoy the action. This is one of many initiatives providing greater accessibility across the stadium. A massive thank you to our team, Football Australia, South Australian Tourism Commission, Hidden Disabilities Sunflower - Australia & New Zealand and Novita who put in a huge amount of effort to make this event a huge success! #SeeSouthAustralia

At Adelaide Oval, mental health is more than just a single day—it’s woven into everything we do. We’re incredibly proud of our Mental Health First Aid program, running multiple times a year, which has now accredited nearly 70 of our team members. These trained professionals are always ready to lend an ear and ask, RUOK? This year for RUOK? Day, we went the extra mile to support our people. We encouraged everyone to take a break, connect over delicious brekkie rolls, and enjoy a refreshing walk around our stunning venue. To cap it off, Delta Therapy Dogs joined us for some heartwarming cuddles and playtime. #RUOKDay #AdelaideOval

Working in the entertainment industry is exciting, fast-paced and rewarding. But it can also be demanding at times. At our latest All Staff Connect we shifted the focus from the customer to our staff, with a spotlight on wellbeing. Joined by the experts at AB Performance Nutrition, Annabelle and Aleesha, we gained valuable insights into healthy eating and its direct impact on mental health. Their diet tips, guidance on portion sizes, and budget-friendly recipes will undoubtedly be used by staff. The team were then treated to a surprise… a live Ready Steady Cook show at the Oval, hosted by the man himself, Peter Everett alongside our own Tommy Pavic. Team Tomato was headed up by Chef Michael Szczypiorski with Head of Security Tony McGrath, with Team Capsicum led by Flynn Hawksworth with Retail Coordinator Lil Hristovski. Using healthy ingredients some impressive skills, the competition was fierce. Team Tomato took the win with their delicious prawn risotto with salsa verde. The afternoon was a perfect blend of information and fun. Thank you to all who made this event memorable and to all of our team for your continued dedication and hard work.

Our amazing partner OzHarvest is launching a Free Supermarket on August 13, in response to the food insecurity crisis SA is facing. Open 3 days a week, this 'take what you need, give what you can' model, is a place shoppers can access nourishing groceries, free of charge. Shoppers are asked to bring a bag, and shop once a week to ensure the love can be spread around. This offering will extend OzHarvest SA's impact beyond delivering 45,000 meals a week to agencies throughout Adelaide and surrounding suburbs to support those in need from quality surplus food that was otherwise headed for landfill.
