AgForce Queensland reposted this
This week, our Queensland Women in Agriculture Leadership (QWAL) participants gathered for their first face-to-face training event in Brisbane. Putting your hand up for self-development isn’t always easy — it can be tough to prioritise yourself and push beyond your comfort zone. It can feel intimidating and full of unknowns. But wow, has it been an empowering two days! Women from Burketown and Longreach, Roma to Dirranbandi, came together to explore self-awareness, emotional intelligence and communication styles. One participant even brought along her 18-month-old, travelling from Injune to join us. The magic of in-person training is undeniable—especially for women living in the bush, where genuine connection can sometimes feel rare. Those breakthrough moments when the energy in the room shifts and 'ah-ha' moments happen are truly invaluable. A huge thank you to our mentors who travelled to support the group, joining us for training and networking drinks at the end of day one. Thank you also to the representatives from the Office for Women who joined us at the event—your support is greatly appreciated. 🙌 This program has been funded by the Queensland Government Women in Industry grant, Office for Women. #QWAL #WomenInAg #LeadershipOpportunity #WomeninIndustry #WomeninQLD #qldwomen
