✨ The theme of this year’s Monash Health AHA Day 2024 will be: Working Towards an Inclusive Future Inclusion is the practice or policy of providing equal access to opportunities and resources for people who might otherwise be excluded or marginalised. As allied health assistants, we practice this with the consumers we see on a daily basis. It's also reflected in the opportunities for leadership and progression that we strive for in our workplaces. This year, we want to showcase the inspiring work that AHAs have been doing across the country in this space. AHAs are champions of inclusion and pioneers in emerging leadership roles. The Monash Health AHA Day 2024 will be livestreamed via WebEx Events on Wednesday, 13 November 2024 between 9.00am – 4.30pm AEDT. ------ 📢 AHANA has negotiated for AHANA Members to attend the Monash Health AHA Day at a discounted individual ticket price of $80. 📢 Breaking News! The National Disability Insurance Agency has announced it will reinstate high intensity supports. This change comes into effect from today, 1 October, and is a positive step for participants with challenging behaviours. The welcome but overdue announcement today means that providers who deliver intensive and complex behaviour supports can claim the higher price limit under certain conditions for: ✅assistance with daily life tasks in a group or shared living arrangement ✅daily personal activities ✅participation in community, social and civic activities ✅group- and centre-based activities. While this is a significant step forward, there is still a long way to go, especially in relation to therapy supports and orthotic/prosthetic services, as well as support co-ordination.
