Our purpose is to elevate Australia's Administrative Profession through Research, Education, Advocacy, and Recognition. We bridge knowledge gaps, champion rights, promote diversity and celebrate excellence. We aim to enhance the understanding of the profession's value in the business community and foster a thriving community of professionals. Our pillars of Research, Education, Advocacy, and Awards are the foundations that help change the narrative around what it means to work within an administrative function or pursue a career in the administrative profession. We no longer allow our industry to be thought of as ‘just the admin’. Michael is an accomplished Executive Assistant with a diverse background spanning professional services, engineering, the arts, and hospitality. In his previous role as Executive Assistant to the Director of Public Engagement (CMO) at the Art Gallery of NSW, Michael contributed to projects blending technology and art for enhanced audience experiences. With project management experience, Michael has spearheaded initiatives in wayfinding, accessibility, and augmented reality, integrating new technologies at companies like WSP and OSD. Michael is passionate about fostering collaborative and diverse environments and is an active member of We Are Unity's DEI Committee. Outside the office, Michael is a professional performer and musician, and enjoys bringing those skills and attributes to the workplace.

The 2023 recipient of this distinguished accolade boasts an extensive list of accomplishments, a list that undoubtedly serves as an inspiration to Administration Professionals worldwide, encouraging us to aim higher, to pursue further education and to persistently champion our cherished profession. Haling originally from the United Kingdom having made Sydney their home for the past 14 years, this exceptional individual has lent their expertise to notable organisations such as LinkedIn and Slack, she recently experienced substantial career growth, acquiring a Chief of Staff Certification and successfully completed the Startmate Women Fellowship. This person is tenacious, self-driven and knows the value she brings to a team, she is also extremely humble.  Her contributions don’t stop here. If any of us have ever suffered from imposter syndrome or been slayed at the knees by the term ‘just an admin’, this exceptionally talented person has the unique ability to dispel such doubts with the creation of her Avatar’s. Avatar’s that have become known worldwide and grace our inboxes’, LinkedIn and Social Media. They are an awe inspiring reflection that depict the everyday challenges faced by those of us in the Administration Profession. They are seen by many and embraced by all.   • The 2023 AAA Award winner in the Culture Optimiser category is Cate Hall from InvoCare who works in strategic partnership with Victoria Doidge GAICD Cate embodies team and workplace culture – with a genuine passion for this. She is involved in multiple culture initiatives including Cheers for Your Peers, coordinating Hands In meetings, and an onboarding pack with ways of working and rules of engagement around workplace culture. She has made team engagement one of her KPIs and, the additional detail in the metrics, where they have seen a 20-point increase in staff engagement in her team.
