A diverse network of organisations which support "across-the-aisle" dialogue to improve public policy discussions.

About us

Australian Dialogues is founded on the premise that the greatest problem we face is an increasing inability to have good discussions about all the *other* problems we face. It is an informal network of organisations from a broad social and political spectrum which see polarisation and uncivil discourse as obstacles to progress and support across-the-aisle dialogue to improve public policy discussions and outcomes. It is not a think tank, commercial or lobby group of any kind. Its only purpose or interest is the common interest. There is no cost to join and no obligation except to nominate a representative for occasional network-wide discussions. Organisations which actively collaborate and contribute have a greater say in the development of the network. "The aim of argument, or of discussion, should not be victory, but progress." Joseph Joubert
