Let’s learn more about Augmentative and Alternative Communication! October marked AAC Awareness Month and Key Word Sign Day – initiatives that are all about showcasing the different ways AAC is used by individuals to communicate. AAC is any communication tool that helps supplement spoken language or can be used instead of spoken language, like: 👋 Hand signs ✏️ Writing or typing 📱 Communication devices Our therapy team uses AAC to support Autistic individuals to express themselves in their own way and connect with others.
