AVESS Energy welcomes the NSW Government’s Energy Plan, which reinforces its commitment to energy security and reliability. By retaining the eight-hour definition of Long Duration Energy Storage (LDES) within the Energy Infrastructure Act and setting a target to procure an additional 12 GWh of LDES capacity by 2034, the State is taking critical steps towards a sustainable energy future. AVESS Energy was proud to contribute to the consultation process through the Smart Energy Council and is pleased to see the NSW Government recognise the range of benefits that LDES can provide. This announcement opens significant opportunities for AVESS Energy as we continue to develop and deploy our innovative long-duration storage solutions, helping to meet growing demand and support NSW’s clean energy transition. AVESS Energy is uniquely positioned to capitalise on the increasing demand for Vanadium Flow Batteries (VFB), which are driven by the need for deep cycling and longer storage durations to effectively dispatch renewable energy at the grid level. VFB technology is rapidly gaining recognition as a highly competitive alternative to lithium storage for durations over six hours, thanks to its superior safety, long life, and alignment with circular economy principles. https://lnkd.in/gs96P4SG #avessenergy #nsw #vanadium #vfb #ldes #energyplan #energysecurity #energyreliability

An update on the power situation in Broken Hill, collaboration between the states, the Commonwealth's move to expand the next Capacity Investment Scheme tender, long-duration storage, gas, and why nuclear is too slow and too costly… It was all on the table at today’s AFR Energy & Climate Summit! Thanks to the The Australian Financial Review for having me along to discuss the renewable energy rollout in NSW. We’re already getting 35% of our power from renewables in NSW, and Labor’s Energy Plan will keep driving that up. 📸 Michael Quelch & Flavio Brancaleone
