About us

Founded in 2009, we are Australasia’s largest independent agency, with an ambition to achieve the same feat in the USA. Bastion was born in the GFC and built over the last 15 years to service clients increasingly competitively challenged by a digitally disrupted and fast changing world. Originally a brilliant innovation in fort design, a bastion provides more points to attack, and more points of defence – eliminating points of weakness. We exist to deliver the strategic advantage needed to put brands, organisations and people in a position of strength. Our 350+ staff work across our offices located in Melbourne, Sydney, Gold Coast, Los Angeles, Newport Beach, New York City, Auckland and Wellington. We also hold agency partnerships in 10 Asian markets. We offer a breadth of specialist capabilities across the communications spectrum including Marketing & communications, Communications, Experiential, Digital, Insights and Training.

    After a great night at the Effie Awards we’re delighted to take home metal for our two entered campaigns. We nabbed a shiny Silver for our work with Spark New Zealand's Accelerate Aotearoa in the B2B category and scored a Bronze with NZ Police in Social Marketing 💜💙 A big congrats to everyone else who took home metal.

    We proudly received a bronze award last night at the Communication & Public Relations Australia’s Golden Target Awards in Sydney for our annual campaign supporting the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair in the NFP PR campaign category!    For 11 years, Amplify has partnered with the Fair and its Foundation to elevate Indigenous art, showcase First Nations creatives, and promote over 70 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Centres across Australia. It’s incredibly rewarding to see our collective efforts recognised, especially for a cause we all care deeply about.   A special shoutout to Chloe Dunn, @NiamhO'Hare, @AliciaHenry, Paige English for your exceptional work this year and our client partners @ClaireSummer and @EllieMeyer!

    Excited to announce we're a contender for the Public Policy/Social Impact Research Effectiveness Award! We are so proud of the work we've conducted for the Department of Transport and Planning in co-designing an accessible, inclusive and equitable public transport system, to provide dignity and independence to Victorians with transport accessibility needs. By directly engaging with individuals with accessibility needs, our research has informed key initiatives like the Transport Accessibility Strategy and the Accessibility Action Plan. We've also initiated trials of innovative navigation tools, showcasing how evidence-based insights can drive tangible change in Victorian public transport accessibility.   This was an incredible team effort from our Insights team - a huge shout-out to them!     3rd Year | Media and Communications Student | Macquarie University

    This week concluded my internship with Bastion Agency. The past 4 months with Bastion has been such an enriching experience for me! I was able to learn about social media content production, scheduling and reporting. Along with other aspects of social media and PR such as sourcing influencer talent for UGC content and creating PR packages. Overall, I had an unforgettable experience with the Amplify team and the office overall. They have been nothing but supportive, encouraging and invested in my progression and development as an intern at Bastion. I would like to thank everyone at Bastion who supported me along my journey!

    The Bastion team were engaged by the ANZ L’Oreal YSL team to execute their activation for the launch of the new YSL Libre Flowers & Flames and YSL MYSLF Le Parfum fragrances. Installed into Westfield Parramatta from Monday 30th September – Sunday 13th October.    The striking, minimalistic, and contemporary design showcased both the Libre and MYSLF brands within the YSL beauty brand. Including distinct areas for both fragrances, with black and white marble finishes, mirrored gold and silver detailing, and campaign imagery and copy featured throughout. Engagement touchpoints also included a vending machine dispensing samples of the fragrances, a 360 camera with a detailed Libre flower background, MYSLF selfie podium, and an engraving machine.    The activation attempted to raise further awareness and hype for the YSL fragrances, encouraging interaction, sampling, and trial. Supporting wider activity for the YSL beauty brand in the AU market.  L'Oréal MNR Constructions.
