  • The Victorian Goldfields have taken a significant step toward global recognition with their inclusion on Australia’s World Heritage Tentative List. This milestone reflects the outstanding universal value of the region’s multi-layered history – from the cultural significance of the First Peoples living on Country to the transformative impact of the goldrush and waves of immigration that followed. The Tentative Listing is an important placeholder on the journey to UNESCO World Heritage Listing. While it recognises the Victorian Goldfields as a strong candidate, the next steps involve detailed research and consultation to determine which sites will form part of the final bid. This collaborative effort involves 15 councils, Traditional Owners, the Victorian and Australian Governments, and a host of local and international experts. Together, we aim to share the extraordinary story of the Victorian Goldfields with the world while creating cultural, social, and economic benefits for local communities. World Heritage Listing has the power to elevate the region’s profile globally and ensure its rich history is celebrated and preserved for generations to come.

  • The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) L2P program helps young Victorians learn how to drive. We’re always on the lookout for new supervising drivers to keep the program running. Eligible learners are matched with a fully licenced volunteer mentor and an L2P car, which is used to gain supervised driving experience. If you love being on the road, working with young people and teaching new skills, it's the ideal opportunity for you (or someone you know). To find out more and to sign up, head here - https://bit.ly/40AHKS8.

  • 243 new homes are being fast-tracked in the heart of South Melbourne. The 20-storey Time & Place development will deliver a mix of studios and homes of up to four-bedrooms. It’ll provide hundreds of Victorians with the opportunity to live just moments from the brand-new Anzac Station, trams, the Botanical Gardens, schools, shops and essential services. This is all thanks to our Development Facilitation Program, designed to accelerate projects that deliver more homes in the places people want to live.

  • What a Sunday! 🌈 An incredible day celebrating and supporting the diversity of the Victorian community at Midsumma Festival Carnival. Being part of this vibrant event has been a privilege, showcasing our commitment to inclusion and ensuring our transport network meets the needs of all Victorians. Our Rainbow Station stall was a hub for connection, learning, and meaningful conversations about fostering a transport system that reflects and embraces diversity. The Platform stage brought the energy, with festival-goers shining through song, dance, and dazzling poses. A special shoutout to our fabulous drag artists – Frock Hudson, Frieda Commitment, and the one and only Brenda Bressed – for lighting up the day with their incredible talent and flair. Inclusion is key to unlocking the power of diversity, and we’re proud to work alongside our partners to create a transport network – and workplace – where everyone can bring their authentic selves.
