There was lots of buzz around our Braeside site last week as we played host to Chris Goulding, captain of Melbourne United Basketball Club, for our National Basketball League (NBL) Tip Off Event! The event marked the continuation of our successful partnership with the NBL, who we’ve been working with to support a healthier future for our community, customers, and people. It was great to hear from Chris as he stepped us through his career journey from playing sport in the backyard, to winning a coveted bronze medal 🥉 for Australia at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. He also touched on the importance of maintaining good health for the longevity of his career and the wellbeing of his family. Our employees got to have some fun with the superstar, playing Pictionary to get an insight into his favourite things and shooting some hoops with his tutelage ⛹️🏀. Big thanks to Chris for his time and sharing his story. Despite advancements, a 2024 report by the National Women’s Health Advisory Council reveals that two-thirds of Australian women have experienced gender bias or discrimination in healthcare. This affects everything from pain management to mental and reproductive health, and often leads to misdiagnoses and inadequate treatment.
