Coal Coma! In this aptly-named 2024 BBMC Yearbook article by Michelle Manook, CEO, FutureCoal Limited she sounds the wake up call for Australia, saying, "... policymakers and the industry at large must rise from this self-inflicted ‘coal coma'. Hiding from the public debate, remaining inwardly and domestically focused, and lacking inclusivity guarantees that Australia will miss out on the next wave of coal innovation". FutureCoal strongly advocates for a focus on the emerging technologies for coal abatement that the western world is already developing at speed. Our heartiest congratulations to Sandra Alcock, Jarryd Hill and the Hillcock Industrial team as they take a great step forward to amalgamate with ATOM to grow their footprint wider and stronger than ever before. ATOM are sponsoring our March luncheon with guest speaker Barry Tudor, Chairman and CEO, Pembroke Resources. Thank you ATOM, we look forward to seeing your business expand throughout the Bowen Basin.
🚀 Exciting News – Hillcock Industrial Joins ATOM! 🚀 When we started Hillcock Industrial, we set out to create something different. We believed the industrial market deserved better—better service, stronger supplier partnerships, and smarter customer solutions. Thanks to the support of our customers, suppliers, and team, we’ve built something that truly resonates. Now, we’re excited to take the next step. We are thrilled that Hillcock Industrial will join ATOM, pending regulatory approvals. ATOM provides the perfect platform to take what we’ve built and scale it nationally. With ATOM’s backing, we can accelerate our vision and continue delivering outstanding service—without the constraints of a single-site operation. As part of this transition, we’re excited to announce that Sandra Alcock and Jarryd Hill will join ATOM as Chief Customer Officer and Chief Operating Officer, respectively. We’re also pleased to confirm that many of our team will join ATOM and will continue supporting our valued customers in Mackay. This marks an exciting new chapter—not just for us but also for our customers and suppliers. We see this as an opportunity for collaboration, innovation, and growth, and we can’t wait to share more in the coming weeks. Thank you for your support—we’re just getting started!

We're looking forward to hearing the latest achievements and the exciting future developments already in hand for Pembroke Resources' Olive Downs Complex. Chairman and CEO, Barry Tudor, is no stranger to many in the Bowen Basin, and the opportunity to talk with him (and the Pembroke executive team) directly about Olive Downs is up for grabs - if you have a ticket for our 27 March Luncheon! In 2014, Barry founded Pembroke Resources with a vision to create a significant new steelmaking coal enterprise. In 2016 he acquired high quality exploration concessions in the Bowen Basin of Queensland which he integrated to create the Olive Downs Complex, which will become one of the world’s largest suppliers of steelmaking coal. In 2018 Barry expanded Pembroke’s operations to include a high-quality steelmaking coal operation in Central Kalimantan Indonesia, developing the asset from greenfield to production in three years, using local expertise overarched with the same strategic focus and approach. Under Barry’s leadership the Olive Downs Complex has progressed rapidly through the rigorous approvals and construction process and is now in production. The success of the billion-dollar development has been in large part due to a dedicated focus to create a “model mine” utilising the latest approaches to mining while meeting and exceeding today’s demanding standards. Barry has been hands-on in creating a business that ensures conservation, environmental, social, and governance initiatives are the priority. Book your seat now, or a table if you want to invite clients, collaborators or staff. This event will sell out, so don't miss out! https://lnkd.in/g9TGabAx

In his address to the QRC Luncheon in late 2024, the Hon. Dale Last MP, Minister for Natural Resources and Mines outlined the incoming Government's strategy for 'restarting' the resources sector. While the outlined strategies were music to the ears of many, addressing approvals, policy and more, Mr Last asked that the audience 'judges us on our actions.' This article is part of the 2024 BBMC Yearbook - read more about the Minister's plans and the State Government roadmap for resources, and you can be the judge, as 2025 proceeds. https://lnkd.in/g7vFsYcN
