Congratulations Arrow Energy on this major announcement that will deliver more jobs for regional Queenslanders. It also confirms the crucial role Queensland gas producers play in providing energy security to homes and industry along Australia’s east coast. #QRC #ArrowEnergy #Queensland #Qld #Resources
I am very pleased to share that Arrow Energy has signed an almost $100 million, multi-year contract with Silver City Drilling to deliver hundreds of new wells as part of our Surat Gas Project. Silver City Drilling is an Australian company with many years of experience and strong ties to the Surat Basin region. The contract will support up to 12 local jobs and contribute over $1.5 million to the region’s economy each year – wonderful news for our local communities! Since our Surat Gas Project began in late 2020, we have brought more than 275 wells online, increasing gas production to 250 terajoules per day – enough to power about 1.7 million homes every day. With Silver City Drilling, we plan to drill 450 more wells in the coming years, including 250 in the Surat Gas Project North expansion northeast of Miles. I look forward to working with Viv Oldfield (pictured below) and the team at Silver City Drilling to progress this exciting next phase of our Surat Gas Project.
