Rising from the ashes, the BTP team has done an excellent job rebuilding this 793F to as new condition following extensive fire damage, delivering value for our client and giving this machine a new lease on life. Our team worked diligently to assess the damage, stripping the machine down to bare chassis where it was surveyed, metallurgically tested and repaired to meet OEM specifications. All minor valves, tanks and accumulators were overhauled or replaced, and major powertrain components and hydraulic cylinders were rebuilt and performance tested during pre-delivery commissioning. This build included upgrading the machine to be Autonomous ready, as well as overhauling the Cab, replacing all hoses and harnesses to suit and ensuring that site specifications were installed to comply with our client's requirements. Congratulations to our BTP rebuild team for their fantastic work on this CAT 793F Dump Truck.

BTP was proud to sponsor the 'Island Drive" at the recent charity golf event in Mackay. BTP brought their A-Game for the M&P Services - Key Solutions Group Charity Golf Day 2024, which raised $61,200 for local charities. BTP’s Derek Ellis and Graeme Sanderson, were joined by Chris Dingle and Ashley Sauer to participate in this event. The day was a big hit, with a record number of attendees raising much-needed funds for local charities including Ronald McDonald House Charities, Mackay Surf Lifesaving Club, Australian Street Aid Project and the Mackay Hospital Foundation. Well done to everyone that participated, it was fantastic to be part of an event giving back to the Mackay community!

Last week our employees took part in the first ever BTP Olympics! This event was an excellent opportunity to get the BTP team together to take part in some fun and games, ranging from the PPE Relay to an Eiffel Tower Stack. The Hydraulics and Engineering Team took home the gold in WA, and the Components Rebuild Team were victorious in NSW. Last month, BTP welcomed a group of Indigenous students from Wongutha CAPS school to our Hazelmere facility. The group toured our workshops to find out more about the mining services industry and the career opportunities available in our sector. The students really enjoyed their visit, especially the chance to check out this CAT 789C truck! Wongutha CAPS is a rural school in Esperance, Western Australia. The school provides education and training opportunities for teens from many different Indigenous groups around the state. Following the tour, our new AIATSIS map of Australia came in handy while we chatted over morning tea. The students were able to point out which area they were from and share a little information about their cultural diversity. The Wongutha CAPS visit, together with the NAIDOC Week events held at BTP, have been a great opportunity for us to build and support connections with First Nations peoples and learn more about Indigenous culture. BTP actively supports learning and collaboration opportunities with First Nations peoples and communities. Another BTP rental machine is on its way to one of our valued clients! This D11T Track Dozer has been prepared for a project in the Hunter Valley to support their ongoing equipment needs. The machine was initially located in Queensland, following a midlife rebuild in our Mackay workshop, where it was comprehensively overhauled and upgraded to improve efficiency and reliability. The dozer was then transported to our Mt Thorley workshop where final assembly and preparation of local site specifications were completed and signed off by the client, before being transported to site. This project is a testament to the teamwork between our branches and is another great example of the way that our clients can benefit from our national supply network.
