Embracing one of our principles of Smarter together, recently, our Perenti HSE leaders came together for a two-day Safety and Sustainability Forum to share knowledge, collaborate, learn and grow. 💡🗨️ Throughout the forum, we engaged in comprehensive sessions that covered essential topics such as continuous safety improvement, governance, safety performance reviews, and the embedding of sustainability (ESG) into our operations. 🦺➡️ We also focused on enhancing our safety management system, with updates on data reporting, analytics, and critical control management. Additionally, we addressed greenhouse gases and carbon reporting, and each division provided important updates on their progress and opportunities. 🔖📑❕On the second day, we had the privilege of hearing from external experts. Richard Crafter and Brendan Green from GCG Health Safety & Hygiene on all thing's health and hygiene, sharing valuable insights, followed by a session with Greg Smith, author of "Paper Safe" and "Proving Safety" and WHS lawyer, who provided his expert perspective on legal aspects of safety work. This forum underscored our unwavering commitment to safety, sustainability, and operational excellence. We are proud of the collaborative spirit that drives us to continually improve and set higher standards in the mining industry. Together, we are paving the way for a safer, more sustainable future. #sustainability #safety #healthandsafety

Barminco secures underground contract extension with Barrick Gold Corporation at Hemlo, Canada. We are pleased to announce that our underground mining business, Barminco, has signed a three-year contract with Barrick Gold Corporation to continue contract mining at the Hemlo gold mine in Canada. The new contract is initially for 36 months, but also includes two 12-month options to extend. If these options are exercised, Barminco will be operating at Hemlo until 2029. The total contract value is worth more than AUD$200 million and involves underground mine development, production and mining support services. Mark Norwell, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Perenti said “The continuation of our relationship with Barrick at the Hemlo gold mine for at least the next three years is another great example of how our Contract Mining team extends contracts over the life of a mine operation. The long-term nature of these relationships is built on a foundation of creating enduring value and certainty for our clients. This aligns our operational success with the goals of our clients and creates a collaborative working environment. Gabrielle Iwanow, President of Contract Mining at Perenti said “We are pleased to continue working with Barrick and demonstrating our leading underground capability in the North American market. Barrick is an important client for Barminco and we look forward to continuing to partner with them to deliver safe production at Hemlo.” Learn more https://bit.ly/4fRemOz #investing #mining #canada

We really enjoyed hosting many of our clients at the Perenti Diggers and Dealers lunch with special guest and cricketing legend @Adam Gilchrist on day two of the conference. The theme of the event was leadership and culture. We heard some great examples and insights from Gilly about his time both on and off the cricket pitch. Some highlights included the call out from one of Gilly’s captain’s, Steve Waugh, on a tour of India, ‘Attitudes are contagious. Is yours worth catching?”. And some advice from a colleague during a challenging time for Gilly which was, “Wherever you are, be there”. Perenti employs more than 10,500 people and we believe that diversity of thought is important in shaping our leadership and culture, and our business more broadly, especially at a time of significant change in the industry. A big thank you to @Adam Gilchrist and the team at Diggers & Dealers Mining Forum 2024 for their help and support in putting on such a memorable event. #mining #miningnews #miningindustry

Today, on the World Ranger Day, we would like to celebrate and warmly thank the guardians of the land on which we live and operate. The day honours the brave and important work rangers do to protect our natural heritage and preserve Earth’s biodiversity. We especially would like to acknowledge the work that is done by the Indigenous Desert Alliance (IDA). The Australian desert is one of the largest and most culturally connected and environmentally significant areas on the planet. It has been cared for and expertly managed over thousands of years by Indigenous minds, hearts and hands. Today, a network of Indigenous rangers are sharing information, practices and working together to provide the highest standard of stewardship and care for the desert. We are pleased to announce that Barminco has been awarded a new development contract with Spartan Resources Ltd and extensions to four existing projects. The scope of the Spartan Resources contract includes the construction of an underground exploration drill drive at the Dalgaranga Gold Project in the Murchison region of Western Australia.   The drive has been designed to run in parallel and adjacent to the mineralised gold zones of Never Never, Pepper, Four Pillars and West Winds, to facilitate underground exploration and subsequently support future production plans.   Construction of the drive is due to start in the current quarter and is expected to take 10 months to complete.   In addition to the Dalgaranga Project, extensions to contracts have also been signed for the following projects:   • Siou and Wona underground at the Mana gold mine for Endeavour Mining in Burkina Faso. • An existing copper and gold underground mining project in Canada. • Spotted Quoll nickel mine for IGO in Australia. • Mt Colin copper mine for Aeris Resources in Australia.   In combination, these projects are expected to contribute approximately A$160 million of revenue to FY25. The project extensions do not require new growth capital.   Mark Norwell, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Perenti said, “The greenfield underground at Dalgaranga project is an exciting opportunity. The resource has the potential to grow into a high-grade gold mine and we look forward to supporting Spartan Resources to achieve their targets during the months ahead.   “In addition, the four contract extensions are another example of the 90%+ success rate the Contract Mining division has in extending and renewing contracts. Maintaining client relationships is critical to our long-term success, so we always strive to find ways to deliver value to our clients when possible.” To read the full ASX release visit Perenti’s investor page https://lnkd.in/ghd_9BH8 #mining #miningindustry #canada #investing

We are excited to announce that Barminco, our underground mining business, has finalised discussions for the continuation of the existing five-year contract at Khoemacau Copper Mine in Botswana, under revised terms, until 30 June 2025. Barminco has been operating at Khoemacau, one of the highest quality copper mines globally, since we commenced at the mine in 2019. There is a strong case for expansion at the mine to meet growing global copper demand. Mark Norwell, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Perenti said, “We are pleased to continue working at Khoemacau. The expansion under consideration has the potential to supply increasing global demand for copper and we are proud to be working with MMG as they assess various future opportunities.” Gabrielle Iwanow, President of Contract Mining at Perenti said, “The continuation of this contract enables the Barminco team to continue working at Khoemacau under revised terms. The region surrounding the operations includes multiple resources beyond the current scope. Cumulatively, these resources have potential to support much higher production and maintain many years of mine life. We look forward to working with MMG to continue high quality operations at Khoemacau.” We look forward to continuing our successful partnership with MMG Limited and driving future opportunities at Khoemacau, Khoemacau Copper Mining. We are thrilled to collaborate with talented artist Acacia Collard to create a series of art pieces inspired by the six seasons of the Noongar calendar. The Noongar calendar's six seasons—Birak, Bunuru, Djeran, Makuru, Djilba, and Kambarang—offer a unique and profound understanding of the natural world. Each season is marked by changes in the environment, animal behavior, and plant life, reflecting a deep connection to Country that has been cultivated over thousands of years. Acacia Collard's work beautifully captures the essence of these seasons, bringing their stories and significance to life through art. Here's what you can expect: 🔴 Birak (December-January, Red): Known as the season of the young, Birak is characterized by warm weather and the first rains. 🟠 Bunuru (February-March, Orange): The hottest part of the year, Bunuru is a time of abundance along the coast. 🟢 Djeran (April-May, Green): A season of cooler weather and flowering plants, Djeran features the consumption of the zamia seed. 🔵 Makuru (June-July, Blue): The coldest and wettest season, Makuru is illustrated through themes of water, reflection, and renewal. 🟣 Djilba (August-September, Pink/Purple): A time of conception, Djilba is marked by new growth and the nurturing of young life. 🟡 Kambarang (October-November, Yellow): With the return of warmer weather, Kambarang brings an explosion of colour as wildflowers bloom. We invite you to join us in celebrating these incredible artworks and the stories they tell as they take pride of place in our office. #naidoc #diversity #firstnations
