Thank you to Senator Raff Ciccone for visiting the CAE Australia team at the CAE Sale Military Training Centre in Victoria. Whilst at the facility, the Senator had the opportunity to meet our all-Veteran workforce and experience world-class KA350 King Air training in a full flight simulator, utilised by the Royal Australian Air Force, Royal New Zealand Air Force, civil pilots, and police and medical evacuation crews. CAE's simulation-based solutions, support services, and training accreditations are vital for pilot training in Australia. CAE Australia was delighted to join university partner, UNSW, at the recent UNSW Future Defence & Security Expo held in Canberra. Together, we discussed research capabilities and objectives as part of our current Defence Trailblazer project that assesses the cognitive load and situational awareness of mission aviators to inform and improve training approaches. As part of the research project, UNSW and CAE replicate complex tasks and training scenarios of mission aircrew who are responsible for operating sophisticated airborne electronic systems. It was a pleasure to welcome the Australian Air Force Cadets from 312 Squadron Kempsey to the CAE Australia Innovation Centre. Cadets were provided with insight into how CAE delivers engineering and training capability to the Australian Defence Force and allied partners. Trialling an extensive range of CAE training products, Cadets were able to see how our technology replicates real-world conditions and operations, allowing defence personnel to practice complex procedures and manoeuvres in safe, controlled, and remote training environments. Philip Donovan is on top of wildlife rescue Down Under: this Australian maintenance manager is not only nearing his 25-year CAE service milestone, but he also runs a 70-acre wildlife refuge with his wife Belinda in New South Wales Australia, caring for over 1,000 animals since 2014. After joining a local wildlife group to do “something meaningful” in his spare time, Phil met and fell in love with Belinda, a wildlife veterinary nurse, and trained zookeeper. The pair purchased Mudgeroo Emu Farm to help distressed, injured and orphaned animals in their community. The creatures are cared for with such respect and gentleness that they become part of the family and are often named after the good Samaritans who brought them in. From ‘roos to reptiles and everything in between, Phil leans on his CAE income to personally fund this passion project, but also relies on the flexible work schedule that CAE offers to accommodate emergency situations when duty calls. Phil has even been known to dash to the rescue of local wildlife at work, at HMAS Albatross, home of the Royal Australian Navy's Fleet Air Arm. From working on sims to help aspiring pilots get their wings, to nursing rescued animals back to health on the ground, we admire Phil’s commitment to serving his community with heart and dedication. **Phil & Belinda’s Mudgeroo Emu Farm is licensed to rescue, rehabilitate, and release wildlife under the supervision of Wildlife Rescue South Coast Inc. CAE Brunei Multi-Purpose Training Centre extends a warm welcome to the Philippine Air Force. Fourteen pilots from the 205th Tactical Helicopter Wing have commenced recurrent Black Hawk training at our centre, working in close collaboration with the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF).    CAE Brunei MPTC is dedicated to providing cutting-edge training services and technology, tailored to the specific needs and priorities of ASEAN partners.
