Today is Global Recycling Day ♻️   From the design of our Centre, the use of the latest energy efficient technologies to the adoption of sustainable operating practices, the Cairns Convention Centre is committed to being as environmentally sustainable as possible. The Cairns Convention Centre was delighted to host Jesús Guerrero Chacón from Meeting Media Group post-AIME 2025. From the breathtaking lunch at Nu Nu, where we savoured a seasonal menu featuring the finest local produce, to the awe-inspiring Skyrail Rainforest Cableway experience through the ancient tropical rainforest, every moment highlighted the natural beauty and rich culture of this incredible region. Afternoon drinks at Wolf Lane Distillery introduced us to the unique flavours of Australia's tropical Far North, followed by a delicious dinner at Ochre Restaurant & Catering, renowned for its modern Australian cuisine and stunning views. Day two was equally impressive, beginning with a delightful breakfast at Wharf One, courtesy of Business Events Cairns & Great Barrier Reef. The site inspection at the Cairns Convention Centre provided valuable insights into the region's world-class facilities and the Centre’s passive-first sustainable and inclusive design. Next, the half-day reef experience with Pure Snorkelling Adventures was transformative, allowing us to explore the vibrant underwater world of the Great Barrier Reef led by the Master Reef Guides and Marine Naturalists. To finish the trip, the Centre planted a tree in the Mabi Rainforest, home to the native Tree Kangaroo. This was part of the Reforest initiative, aimed at leaving a positive impact from Jesús' time in Cairns. A big thank you to our amazing partners for helping deliver an exceptional Famil. This is a great example of how our collaborative efforts come together to showcase our incredible region to the global Business Events community.
