This year alone, the event raised over $1 million for cancer research, support and prevention in Australia. Phil will also be a part of the upcoming Head and Neck Cancer Association (HANCA) RideBeyondFive and the 2025 Tour de Cure SA Discovery. Congratulations Christopher Barnett and the incredible team at the Women's and Children's Health Network! 👏 We are proud of your contribution to the development of a culture of evidence-based practice and improved quality of care! This #PregnancyandInfantLossAwarenessMonth, we’re sharing the incredible work of the Genomic Autopsy Study at the Women's and Children's Hospital. This national research study is based in Adelaide and led by Dr Chris Barnett and Professor Hamish Scott and utilises genomic testing (a test which examines hundreds of genes to identify changes that may affect you) to better understand the underlying cause(s) of pregnancy loss. The study has provided genetic diagnoses and identified reoccurrence risk for half of the families enrolled, who otherwise would not have had a diagnosis, providing them with options going forward to prevent reoccurrence. The hope is to provide families with answers and reproductive options to avoid future pregnancy loss. Congratulations to the team for winning our 2024 Women’s and Children’s Health Network Excellence Awards, Research and Innovation category which recognised its contribution to the development of a culture of evidence-based practice and improved quality of care.
