On Monday night, we gathered to celebrate a decade of the NSW Health Commercialisation Training Program with you all! 🎉 It was a great honour to recognise the remarkable achievements of our state's clinicians, researchers, innovators, and entrepreneurs. These individuals are at the forefront of addressing the most pressing challenges within our healthcare system, driving innovations that enhance patient care and outcomes. NSW Health and the Office for Health and Medical Research (OHMR) have been visionary in their commitment to establishing programs that support the commercialisation of novel technologies. Cicada Innovations is proud to have been the delivery partner for both the NSW Health Medical Device and Health Commercialisation Training Program over the past decade. These programs provide the invaluable opportunity to support our state's brightest minds as they navigate the complex journey of commercialisation. We would like to thank The Hon. Airway infections like influenza, COVID-19, and RSV still pose a significant global health challenge. In developed countries, acute respiratory infections (ARIs) account for 20% of medical consultations and over 30% of work absences. The situation is even more dire in developing nations, where ARIs cause nearly 20% of deaths in children under five. Misti is combating this issue by developing a first-in-class advanced medication delivery platform. Their innovative technology can control particle size, significantly improving the efficiency of delivering therapeutic biomolecules, including advanced drugs like mRNA, deep into the lungs.
