Getting young people into surveying is crucial to the future of our industry, and a huge part of that is making sure young spatial enthusiasts can access the education they need to start their journey. We're proud to have partnered with our friends at SDG, Land Surveys, LandPartners and LYNTON SURVEYS PTY LTD to support the ongoing teaching of Surveying at UNSW. We've collaborated on a significant philanthropic donation of $300,000, matched by the Faculty of Engineering, to establish the Industry Lecturer of Surveying, (Education Focused) position at UNSW Engineering Civil & Environmental Engineering. Sandra Hoffman has taken on this new role, and we look forward to working with the future surveyors from UNSW Civil and Environmental Engineering Society (CEVSOC) she takes under her wing!

Empowering aspiring surveyors, to attain VocED quals, collaborating with companies to empower employees through accessible online programs. I am Peta Cox, dedicated to fostering the next generation of surveyors at ITA

I finally found the head space to get this episode up… We’re not just surveyors, we add a lot of value in a lot of different ways. Join two old surfies talking about the ocean, sharks, the love of the water and surveying.. Born and Bred on the North Shore of Sydney, David Lovell, our quiet mild mannered Director and Surveyor at CMS SURVEYORS talks about how he ended up in Surveying, from mining Engineering to running a company, with over 80+ staff with his life long friend. On the soap box about technology eradicating mentoring and training but making surveying easier and more accessible. Touching on the importance of lifelong learning, knowing your stuff, being a mentor not just a surveyor and what you need to grow your business.  Some cracker one liners were quoted, "Have the right Mindset & you will get far, find the right company for you and Never be Afraid to be Challenged" … Lastly, Don’t get stressed on the little things! If you want to be part of the podcast send me a DM. #surveyingpodcast #surveying #definingboundaries

Enriching skills across the broader team. Learning and training is something we're passionate about, and we know that for better quality of work and higher job satisfaction, a comprehensive understanding of what we do and how we do it is essential for our admin, marketing, accounts and HR staff. This week Allan STEVEN and Christopher Larmour facilitated a training session on all things spatial, explaining concepts around scanning, aerial surveying, 3D modelling and more.

The gloomy weather meant no bowls for us, but we still had a great time last Friday afternoon catching up and celebrating. Big thanks to Wendy for swooping in and saving the day with Trivia and CMS Bingo!    We welcomed new staff members Daniel, Mitchell, Byron, Sean, Aiden & Marley, and celebrated a 10 year milestone for others, including:   Dan Luff Mathew Colivas Luke Jusic Michael Brisby  Peter Gailey Tony Snell Patrick Butterworth  Andrew Irwin  Tim Cools Brian Whiting Allan STEVEN Frederick Pall Pall Paolo Di Nunno  Hayden Cook  Siva Sivasothy BSc Eng (Hons) Robert Jackson  Linda Cook Hamish Roberts and Brad McLaren   On behalf of the Directors, we want to express our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you for your hard work, dedication, and commitment to CMS. Your loyalty and service form the bedrock of our success, and for that, we are truly grateful.   We recently had the retirement of Tony Snell in Cootamundra, and we'll give him a proper send-off when he returns from his holiday. This occasion has provided an opportunity for Stacy to step up and take the reins of our rural work, and we are thrilled about his "tree change."   Ren is also making a move south to Melbourne this weekend. She will continue in her role, working remotely, and we'll continue to see her smiley face on Microsoft Teams. All the best with the move, Ren.   Looking ahead, we're excited to share some new initiatives aimed at enhancing your enjoyment and satisfaction at work. In the coming months, you can expect the rollout of a new mentoring system, a fresh approach to mental health awareness at work, and some exciting opportunities to create a fun and vibrant office environment.   At CMS, we're always striving to make this a great place to work, providing growth and development opportunities while offering the support needed for you to thrive. Your well-being and happiness are paramount to us, and we want to ensure that you feel safe, fulfilled in your roles, and happy to come to work.   Collectively, we have a wealth of knowledge and experience to share.
