Australia was proud to host the Five Eyes Science and Technology Principals’ Annual Meeting in Adelaide from 23-26 September. This partnership remains a vital element of our security settings, through which we significantly enhance our situational awareness and leverage our diversity for strategic advantage. A delegation of more than 30 attended, including Assistant Deputy Minister Defence Research and Development Canada (Dr Jaspinder Komal), the UK’s Deputy Chief Scientific Advisor (Dr Nick Joad), Australia’s Chief Defence Scientist (Professor Tanya Monro), New Zealand’s Chief Defence Scientist (Dr David Galligan), and US Assistant Secretary of Defense for Science and Technology (Dr Aprille J. Ericsson).

The ADSTAR 2024 summit was recently hosted in Canberra, bringing the innovation, science and technology ecosystem together to share ideas on a global scale. The summit was an opportunity to build new relationships and strengthen established partnerships across #YourADF, government, industry, and academic sectors, utilising both in-person and hybrid remote engagement to bring communities of interest together.
