The new Act will respond to the issues facing aged care in Australia. It will also put the rights and needs of older people at the centre of our new aged care system. Applications are now open for the Aged Care Wages Stage 3 (Tranche 1) - Historical Leave Liabilities Grant Opportunity. The Fair Work Commission increased award wages for some aged care workers from 1 January. This grant will help aged care providers with funding towards paying the higher cost of leave entitlements, including long service, annual and sick leave. On 1 January 2025, the Australian Government froze the maximum patient cost of PBS medicines 💊. This means: ➡️ no maximum cost increases for PBS medicines this year. ➡️ 5-year freeze for concession card holders. Combined with 60-day prescriptions, which are now available for almost 300 medicines, Australians can save time and money when by getting twice the medicine on a single prescription.
