Australian Information Commissioner Elizabeth Tydd is calling on Australian Government agencies to improve settings around messaging apps, like Signal and WhatsApp. 💬 Today, we’ve published the Commissioner’s report on her review of the policies and practices of 22 agencies around messaging apps. The review found messaging apps are an established feature of digital communications in the Australian Public Service, though are regularly being used without adequate policies and procedures that reflect statutory obligations. 📹 Commissioner Tydd shares why it’s important agencies improve information governance to ensure they meet legislative obligations, no matter the technology in use.
