The Neonav® ECG Tip Location System is a non-invasive device designed to improve the accuracy and safety of central catheter placements in critically ill newborns and children. These catheters are essential for delivering vital nutrients and medications. The system uses advanced ECG technology to provide real-time feedback on the catheter tip's location during insertion and continuous monitoring afterward, preventing potentially harmful migration and ensuring the catheter remains safely positioned throughout its use. Over an eight-year journey, Navi Medical Technologies, in collaboration with the University of Melbourne, The Royal Women's Hospital, and Design + Industry (D+I), developed this system through a quality-driven process involving thorough research, iterative development with key users, and trials. This project was made possible through the support of numerous Australian medical research and commercialisation grants and growth initiatives. The device has received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation, highlighting its significant improvement over existing solutions and its potential to enhance the standard of care for the youngest and most vulnerable patients. Replacing blood tests with sweat and saliva tests — Precision detection of biomarker concentration. NANOMOLAR, in partnership with the NUS Centre for Advanced 2D Materials (CA2DM) at the National University of Singapore, has reached a milestone with the delivery of the first proof-of-concept prototypes for their graphene biomarker analyser, designed by D+I. This technology aims to replace blood tests with sweat and saliva tests to provide precision detection of biomarker concentration. With the support of the National Research Foundation Singapore (Central GAP), NanoMolar's graphene-based sensor offers unmatched accuracy in detecting biomarkers, identifying electrolytes, metabolites, vitamins, hormones, proteins, peptides, and xenobiotics in sweat and saliva. D+I delivered an optimised three-component POC system with a straightforward workflow. The system can provide real-time readings via the Smart Device Application developed by Swag Soft Holdings, with calibrated concentration results available in under 5 minutes.
