What better way to acknowledge Global Peer Support Celebration Day than with the launch of East Metropolitan Health Service’s inaugural Lived Experience Strategy – our commitment to supporting and building our peer support workforce! The strategy focuses on inclusion, co-design, education, employment and evidence-based interventions to enhance our health services with cultural sensitivity and recovery-oriented approaches. It was a proud day indeed for EMHS Peer Support Worker (PSW) Coordinator Derek Horlin, PSW Eliza Rushton and Executive Director of Safety, Quality & Consumer Engagement Sandra Miller – pictured below – and their wider team at EMHS. #livedexperience #peersupport #EMHS

We are excited to announce the creation of a new Aboriginal Health department within the Royal Perth Bentley Group (RPBG), that will be led by Ken Nicholls. Ken, who has been a cornerstone of our Aboriginal Health Liaison Officers (AHLO) team, will now steer this new initiative which will further entrench Aboriginal health into the very structures of the services we offer across our sites. Ken’s journey from AHLO to now department lead is a testament to his commitment to culturally safe and responsive care. Join us in supporting Ken and the RPBG team, as they enhance care for our First Nations consumers. #HealthcareLeadership #CulturalSafety #RPBG #EMHS #healthpeople #royalperthhospital #publichealth #ComeJoinUs

Royal Perth Hospital’s heliport is shining blue in recognition of the ‘Say G’Day’ campaign, a St Bart’s initiative aimed at raising awareness about homelessness and mental health. Since its launch in 2021, this campaign has reminded us that simple gestures, like acknowledging those experiencing homelessness, can have a profound impact. This year, Say G’Day Day (4 October) leads into WA Mental Health Week and World Mental Health Day, inspiring communities to take action and break down stigma. Join us in supporting this important cause and promoting inclusivity and compassion in our communities. #StBart #SayGDay #RPH #Healthcare #EMHS
