A big thank you to everyone who joined us last night in Sydney for our Accelerating Your Scope 3 Roadmap event, hosted by Edge Impact in collaboration with the Australian Retailers Association (ARA). This wasn’t just your typical panel event. After the insightful discussion, we shifted into a dynamic networking workshop. Attendees had the chance to dive deeper into critical themes and engage directly with our experts: Tanya Harris, Max Van Biene GAICD, Jake Atkinson, and Nicole Thompson (she/her). This hands-on format fostered rich conversations and provided a unique opportunity for practical problem-solving. We covered key topics around supply chain emissions, including: 🔎 The impacts of mandatory disclosure and how it drives progress on Scope 3. 🔎Harnessing technology for deeper supply chain engagement. 🔎Streamlining data capture requirements from suppliers. 🔎Effective approaches to upskilling procurement and sustainability teams on emissions data. One of the standout moments came from Jason Robertson at ARA, who said, “I wish it were called Mandatory Climate Action instead of mandatory disclosure—because it’s the actions that matter, not the reporting.” A sentiment that resonated with many in the room. The discussion was further enriched by insights from our brilliant panelists: Will Syddall from UNSW, Kriss Alexander from Nando's Australia & New Zealand and Jessica Richmond from Sumday. A special shoutout to Edge’s own Nicole Thompson (she/her), who showcased her incredible depth of knowledge and engaging presence, both on the panel and during the workshop sessions. A huge thank you to our event partners: 🪴 The Greenhouse for the stunning venue and event support. 🍻 4 Pines Beer for providing the perfect beverage pairing. 🍽️ Radish Events, a fellow B-Corp, for their incredible catering.
