We thought it was pretty ordinary that King Charles decided to skip the Sunshine State on his royal tour. So, along with our new friends at SportsPick, part of Entain Australia & New Zealand / Entain Venues, we’re encouraging Queenslanders to take advantage of their ability to substitute a public holiday and swap this Monday’s King’s Birthday public holiday on October 7th for a more fitting tribute: Wally Lewis’s birthday in December. Come on QLD, get involved at therealking.com.au

Our Head of Data and Technology, Antonio Panuccio, shared his perspective in a recent AdNews Australia article on the delayed Privacy Act reforms, which may not pass until 2025, following an already lengthy process. Antonio expressed disappointment with the delay and acknowledged that the current Privacy Act is outdated and insufficient in addressing today’s digital landscape. He highlighted that reforms should tackle issues beyond advertising, with parliament action required to ensure this is a ‘real’ issue in boardrooms rather than just a speculative one. Calling all friends and family of Enigma, Cogan’s Heroes. For many years, Glenn Cogan was an inaugural member of our Enigma family and went on to be the Co-Founder of Toybox Films with Aaron Haberfield. Right now, he needs all of our support as he battles Motor Neuron Disease. Join us on Friday, September 20th at NEX to rally for Glenn and raise funds for this crucial cause. There are some incredible auction items lined up, with funds going to MND research led by Professor Dominic Rowe’s team at Macquarie University. Help us to make a difference—ticket sales end Tuesday, September 10th. See link below for tickets. https://bit.ly/4cWhMwq

Last night Sally Lawrence, Executive Director, Media and Amy Dascanio, GM, Media attended the Ooh! 2025 upfront event. It was a great way to kick off to upfronts season. We love outdoor and one statement that resonated with us from the night was around outdoor being so effective because it is the only channel where it doesn’t interrupt the content; it is the content! Check out the link below for Sally's comments to AdNews Australia on the event and what’s to come from Ooh! in 2025. https://bit.ly/47dMEHC Sally Lawrence, Amy Dascanio, Chris Roots, Cassandra Agnew, ooh Media

Our Executive Director of Digital, Data & Technology Renaud Frisé recently shared insights in an AdNews Australia article on the future potential of SearchGPT. While it may not yet rival Google, Ren believes it has the power to stand out by offering a conversational and context-driven search experience that could redefine how we use search engines. He emphasises key opportunities such as personalisation, innovation, and the rise of LLMO (Large-Language-Model Optimisation) over the next few years, as brands adapt to AI-enabled tools. As an agency on the waitlist for OpenAI’s SearchGPT early test group, we’re excited to see how success in this space will depend on user experience, problem-solving, and brands evolving with the technology. Our Media Performance Manager, Noah Smith, recently shared his candid thoughts on Threads in an AdNews Australia article. Noah joined Threads with high expectations for a unique social media experience. Initially, it seemed like a refreshing change—a space for genuine connection. However, despite the impressive sign-up numbers in its first week, the excitement quickly waned. With a weekly screen time of just three minutes on Threads—0.5% of his total app usage—Noah finds the platform uninspiring and challenging in terms of content creation. What are your thoughts on Threads? Is it meeting your expectations, or does it fall short? 💬👇
