About us

At Empowered Women in Trades (EWIT), we are on a mission to reshape the skilled trades industry, aiming for 30% female representation by 2030. We believe in the power of a thriving economy that is inclusive and diverse, where women are key drivers of growth and innovation. Our approach is twofold: empowering women through immersive training and deep industry connections, and fostering positive cultural transformations within the trades sector. EWIT comprises a synergistic blend of a registered charity and a social enterprise, both dedicated to elevating the presence and impact of tradeswomen across Australia. We challenge and change perceptions in trade-based workplaces, advocating for women not just as participants but as leaders and change-makers. Our strategy extends beyond traditional training. We offer a unique blend of programs and services designed to connect women, non-binary individuals, schools, industry partners, employers, unions, and VCAL/VET providers. This holistic approach facilitates seamless entry and progression for females and non-binary people in trades careers. A cornerstone of our work is our Positive Psychological Organisational Wellbeing Programs. These programs are meticulously crafted to ignite cultural growth within the skilled trades industry, creating environments where everyone can thrive. We work closely with employers to instill inclusive, supportive, and progressive workplace cultures, ensuring that the industry is not only welcoming to women but also conducive to their long-term success and well-being. EWIT's commitment extends to supporting tradeswomen throughout their careers. We offer continuous guidance, advanced training, and mentorship opportunities, fostering career advancement, leadership roles, and entrepreneurial ventures. Join us in transforming the skilled trades industry! Your support can make a significant difference whether through corporate partnership, sponsorship or donations to our charity.
