Well done to Gerflor Australasiaon renewing Global GreenTagCertTM GreenRate ™ Level A certification for Tarasafe Ultra H2O - a resilient, homogeneous vinyl safety floor covering. It features a PVC wearlayer, deeply inlaid mineral particles and coloured chips for a decorative design and a raised emboss for increased slip resistance. It is classified as R11 slip resistance and is ideal for wet and dry, barefoot applications such as shower and changing rooms. Gerflor offers a Product Stewardship Program to take back the products at the end of service life for recycling or reusing. Recently, Gerflor was featured in the Architecture & Design magazine thanks to our successful Macquarie University Hospital project. Designed by Angel Mahchut Architects, the Orthopaedic Institute features our Mipolam and Taralay Impression ranges, along with SPM wall protection. Our Mipolam and Taralay ranges present as an ideal choice, as they are available in a vast array of suitable colours and include antiviral and antibacterial properties, contributing to infection prevention and control.   They are also endorsed by the DSDC (Dementia Services Development Centre), making them appropriate for aged care environments catering for residents with dementia. All Hallows' School in Brisbane sought out Gerflor to provide the flooring for their McAuley Hall building refurbishment. McAuley Hall was built in the late 1950s and has had many lives. The refurbishment completed in 2023 created 12 contemporary general learning areas, new staff working and lunch spaces, as well as new student and staff amenities. While primarily used to accommodate the growing year 5 and 6 cohort, the spaces have been designed to be flexible so that other year levels can use the spaces as needs change. Magda Myszkowski, an interior designer at Deicke Richards, worked with the school and its stakeholders to develop consistent and contemporary interior design finishes inspired by the history of the school and the building. University of Wollongong is a highly regarded institution in Australia, with its campus located on the coast of New South Wales. With a state-of-the-art facility, UOW sought Gerflor to help renovate its 2400m2 of sports hall that contained 2 basketball courts. Recognising the significance of enhancing their sports facilities with student safety in mind, Wollongong University chose Taraflex™ Multi-Use. Gerflor and Kenbrock are proud Foundation Members of the ResiLoop Project in Australia. ResiLoop represents the collaborative effort led by the Australian Resilient Flooring Association Inc ARFA to reduce waste and enhance recycling capabilities as part of a circular economy for resilient flooring products. ResiLoop’s objectives are to reduce the level of resilient flooring heading to landfill by: 1. Enabling recovery and recycling of resilient floorcoverings in Australia at scale through participation in the scheme by a majority of product distributors and flooring installers. 2. Building onshore recycling capacity by researching and developing new end applications for the recyclate, encouraging investment in technologies and employment in the recycling sector, and supplying recyclate to local manufacturers to reduce virgin material consumption. 3. Driving sector-wide behaviour changes that contribute to the circular economy by informing product development and engaging manufacturers, distributors, specifiers, flooring contractors, recyclers and consumers.
