If you’ve been out of work for a long time it’s not every day you find yourself in a boardroom, right? But why not? Why not YOU? That very question, "Why not me?" continues to inspire our GOGO partners and our long-time supporters, Beyond Bank Australia to open their doors for every round of the Inclusive Work Program. Together, we're creating opportunities, new visions, and a profound sense of "Yes, me." Not all of our participants aim to work in a corporate environment, but the opportunity to listen and learn from the People & Culture team is invaluable. They provide practical advice on all things resumes, cover letters, and interviews — helping our participants navigate the recruitment process with confidence and preparation. They emphasise that resumes are our personal marketing tools, and interviews are about being authentically YOU! Knowing that resilience, determination, adaptability, and transferable skills are more than enough. A huge thank you to the Beyond Bank staff who generously gave their time to guide our women through mock interviews, reinforcing that an interview is just a conversation. It's a chance to interview the organization too, showcasing the unique skills we each bring that could help a company thrive. And Crystal Crossman no visit to Beyond Bank is complete without hearing your story. The impact of your journey on every woman who sits where you once did is immeasurable. We are truly grateful to Beyond Bank, Shane Farley and Kerri Bagley for their continuous and unwavering support of the Inclusive Work Program. 🙏 #Possibilities #Pathways #OpenDoors #AFutureWithMyNameOnit #community

Nothing beats watching your client soar. Well done GOGO Foundation and Sarah Gun!
We have worked so hard to demonstrate to the world the potential of the women we are supporting at GOGO Foundation's Inclusive Work Program and the value of investing in them and their future. Receiving the news this morning that GOGO Foundation and our incredible training partner The DaV'ange Group are finalists in the South Australian Skills Commission Training Awards in 2 categories - Excellence in Diversity, and Industry Collaboration is a total thrill for our small but mighty team. This brilliant achievement though is gazumped by the outstanding news that our student Tracey Rigney is a finalist in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year. We are SO PROUD of you Tracey, and delight that your persistence and hard work has been recognised. Today the Federal Government announced its investment in our Inclusive Work Program. Wow! The Inclusive Work Program has been instrumental in providing valuable skills and employment opportunities to women facing adversity. And a big thank you to Beyond Bank for supporting Crystal to share her story with us. Crystal spoke today at our press conference. We also want to thank Nicole and Claire for sharing their stories at our launch. The Federal Government has funded South Australian women facing complex barriers to employment by providing $600,000 in new funding to the GOGO Foundation. The funding will be delivered under the Strong and Resilient Communities Activity and will allow the GOGO Foundation to continue to deliver its nine-week trauma-informed Inclusive Work Program for women. This funding will allow us to change the lives of more women!

Did you see our new Board members in the InDaily appointments? Welcome new board members Andrea Heading, Secretary Naomi Riach and Treasurer Nick Whalan. Andrea Heading brings her passion for building and fostering strong business relationships to the Foundation where it can grow its impact with the Inclusive Work Program. As a champion for the development and implementation of social impact and innovative solutions she hopes to engage with all stakeholders to create a shared vision and bring fresh ideas to the Foundation. Andrea is a highly experienced business leader with expertise across multiple industry sectors, including travel, consumer goods and services, government, not for profits and category disruptors. "There are so many misconceptions, but I think the most profound is that people facing homelessness are uneducated. That is absolutely not our experience, 63% of the women we worked with in the first few years at GOGO Events had tertiary qualifications. There are other assumptions people make, that homeless people are not resilient, they're weak or just not capable. These points are also untrue. I find that the people we have worked with are the most resilient." Thanks Impact Boom for re sharing this great podcast - loved working with you.
💭 On Episode 279 of Impact Boom, Sarah Gun of GOGO Events Pty Ltd and GOGO Foundation discussed the broader movements impacting Australia and how misconceptions about homelessness can be addressed through #socialbusiness. Read the full article or listen to the podcast here 🚀https://bit.ly/3WYxlzJ
