Our charity partners Ambulance Wish Queensland have officially launched on the Sunshine Coast! Amazing work as always from the team. Very touching to see Usha honoured through legacy by the name of the new Ambulance. Our Director Zac Gleeson was honoured to be invited to attend Usha’s wish at Mooloolaba when it occurred, a truly amazing and powerful experience, as all wishes are. Lasting memories for Sunshine Coast residents 🦋 Over the past 2 days, Ambulance Wish Queensland launched its Sunshine Coast Hub with an onsite wish for the residents of Dove House Palliative Care and a community event at Noosa Seniors. This newly established Sunshine Coast Hub will provide, facilitate, and fulfil wishes for those in the region, creating memories forever for Sunshine Coast residents with a life limiting condition. This new hub, having received a donation of a decommissioned Ambulance from Queensland Ambulance Service, will fulfil wishes within 150 kilometres of Noosa. Amazing feedback for our Building Consultancy team on a recently completed defect report on a high-rise complex in West End, Brisbane. The scope included a defect review of all common areas as well as droning of the façade and roof top. A total of 43 defects were found of differing severity. This report assists the body corporate in their discussions with the original builder regarding rectification works. Well done to all on a successful project!

On Friday some of our staff from Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba came together to celebrate the retirement of Senior Consultant and Registered Building Inspector John Derickx. John has been a part of the GQS team for the last few years and has been instrumental in the success of our building consultancy and defect management arm of the business. A true gentleman of the industry with over 52 years experience as a builder including running his own building company and working for the likes of Tomkins, Coles Supermarkets and Oak Tree. We’ve all learnt a lot from John, his kindness and measured approach to his work always shone through and he will be sorely missed. A career worth celebrating and now for some well deserved travelling and more time with the grandkids. Wishing you all the best John, you’ll always be considered part of the GQS family.
