Take a look back at how our CPB Contractors team delivered a temporary helicopter landing (HLS) site for Health Infrastructure’s Royal Prince Alfred (RPA) Hospital Redevelopment project…👇🔎 1️⃣Planning and consultation Planning began in late 2022, when our team, together with our client, engaged in stakeholder and community consultation to identify potential impacts and address concerns from the outset. 2️⃣Collaboration Working closely with Health Infrastructure and stakeholders such as NSW Ambulance, Sydney Local Health District and Newborn & Paediatric Emergency Transport Service, the team developed a suitable solution. 3️⃣Construction The temporary HLS was constructed over 12 months, featuring two new lifts and dedicated ambulance bays. 4️⃣Testing and operation Successful test flights were conducted in late 2024, ensuring the temporary HLS was operational, allowing for the decommissioning of the hospital’s existing helipad. 👷Did you know CPB Contractors has been using biodiesel, a renewable alternative to diesel, across its projects since 2014? Fast-forward to today… and our teams continue shifting towards greener solutions like electric plant and vehicles, and renewable energy sources. ➡️#AboutBiodiesel: Biodiesel is an industry waste by-product sourced from either waste cooking oil or ‘tallow’ from abattoirs, and its utilisation supports CPB Contractors’ circular economy approach. ➡️#BiodieselOnSite In Western Sydney, our project team delivering the Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport Surface and Civil Alignment Works (SCAW) Project is powering its plant and equipment using biodiesel. You can read more about this approach, including how it has already reduced project carbon emissions by 200 tCO2e, here: https://lnkd.in/gDK55JcF ⚡Did you know that CPB Contractors has been part of the Sydney Metro journey since the very beginning? Our CPB Contractors team has proudly helped deliver the largest combined packages of work along the Sydney Metro alignment, and we’re looking forward to seeing how the Western Sydney Airport alignment will transform travel for even more commuters in the future. • 🦺😁These smiles say it all, right!?😁🦺 It was ear-to-ear grins all day for these school holidayers who participated in CPB Contractors’ “Be a builder for the day” program at our Queensland HQ. Pictured here are some of our young guests in action. They spent the day constructing Lego conveyor belts, plough machines and cranes. After building their models, they learned how to program the creations to move, blending creativity with technical skills. This program builds upon CPB Contractors' ongoing commitment to providing its people with opportunities to thrive and is one way that team members are supported and empowered to be well at work and in life through rewards, benefits and opportunities. This week, more than 50 women who are considering a career change to construction visited Western Sydney International Airport (WSI) to walk on the new 3.7km runway, meet with construction workers and get a first-hand look at construction works taking place at the WSI’s integrated 24-hour Cargo Precinct. Hosted by WSI and CPB Contractors, and joined by representatives from Australian Constructors Association (ACA) the event kicked off ACA’s “It’s Possible” campaign, designed to encourage women – especially those in mid-career – to consider switching to construction. CPB Contractors launched Australia’s first paid Women in Construction program in NSW in 2022, going on to expand the program to Victoria the following year. CPB Contractors’ Emily Wood, who graduated from the program in 2022 and now works on the M12 project, joined the 50 women sharing how much she loves her job, “I’ve been working as a labourer for three years and I love my job. Every day is different and I’m always learning something new – from changing a tyre to building a major road, I’m constantly gaining new skills and experience.” Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gpQrKas4 Want to hear more about what's happening across CPB Contractors? 👷♀️Design Engineer Laura Onate is part of the CPB Contractors team bringing Melbourne’s West Gate Tunnel project to life.👷♀️ Her work here is instrumental and includes optimising designs, evaluating changes and identifying opportunities to increase sustainability and reduce costs. Supporting changes during the construction phase requires a great deal of creativity and innovation, especially when flexibility is limited. With a strong focus on sustainability and cost efficiencies, Laura has been instrumental in avoiding unnecessary design changes and identifying opportunities to reuse materials for each proposed change. “Don’t be afraid of the things that you don’t know, you can use them as an opportunity to come up with new innovative and creative solutions”, says Laura. 🟣Women are tipping the gender balance and entering the construction industry in greater numbers than ever before, and this year, CPB Contractors is marking #InternationalWomensDay by sharing stories of how female team members across our projects, offices and plant yards are making their mark. #AccelerateAction🟣 Want to hear more about what's happening across CPB Contractors?
