Several of our people from across our business attended the Diversity Council Australia Ltd's Diversity Debate this week.   At GrainCorp, Inclusion is at the heart of what we do. From achieving the narrowest Gender Pay Gap in the ASX200, to walking the talk with our Innovate Reconciliation Action plan, we're creating an environment where all our people can thrive. #WeCare #WeDoWhatsRight

What a great debate 🎤 on whether polarisation is holding back diversity and inclusion at the Diversity Council Australia Ltd event. It is not every day we get to engage in conversations where challenging ideas were met with openness, humor, and insights. Personal highlights were Patricia Karvelas who expertly moderated the debate + Dee Madigan and Michael Hing. Thank you Gary Hegarty for hosting the event for GrainCorp. Whilst the food was fantastic, the company was even better!Moments like these remind me how critical it is to keep these discussions alive, as they shape the future of inclusive and diverse leadership and workplaces. I feel very privileged to be working at GrainCorp where values of #wecare and #wedowhatsright are key to driving inclusivity and diversity. This one's for the truck lovers 🚛💚 Thanks to technology and engineering advancements, trucks are bigger than ever before - meaning they can transport larger loads more efficiently. These large vehicles cut diesel consumption by up to 20%, while reducing overall truck movements. With around 300,000 trucks expected to visit our sites this #harvest, we're welcoming the change to help make grain movement more sustainable across Australia. 🌟 Celebrating 100 years of tallow! 🌟 We hit an agri-energy milestone recently, so to celebrate we came together with the Australian Renderers Association (ARA) to host industry leaders and customers from across the globe in Brisbane, QLD.   The event was a chance to reflect on the history of this multifaceted by-product, which was first used to make candles and beauty products before its use as a feedstock for renewable fuel was realised.   Today, we're the largest exporter of #tallow out of Australia and New Zealand, and we specialise in developing tallow to support the global #RenewableFuel industry and personal care sector. 🌟 Boosting local communities 🌟 This year, through our Community Grants program, we’ve been able to support 55 community groups – awarding over $450,000 to help strengthen community focused initiatives. We’ve recently announced the 29 groups that have been selected through our latest grants round, including the Walhallow Local Aboriginal Land Council in Caroona, NSW. They’ll use the funding to create an interactive animation that will preserve and share the cultural heritage of the Gamilaroi people and the Dreamtime story of Yurrandaali, pictured below. “By bringing the Yurrandaali story to life through animation, we not only safeguard our heritage but also promote cultural understanding and reconciliation across the broader community," says Council CEO Jason Allen. The GrainCorp Grants program provides financial support to organisations and projects that support positive economic, social and cultural growth, with two funding rounds held per year in February and July. At GrainCorp today, we were fortunate to have R U OK? Ambassador Barry Du Bois join us in our Sydney office to share his personal experience and remind us of the importance of checking in with each other every day. Our teams from across the country dialed in and gathered to take part in this important #RUOKDay conversation, especially as we head into the busy harvest season.

Today is R U OK? Day: A simple question that can change a life, and can be asked on any day, not just today. Our GrainCorp teams came together today in Sydney, and across out network, to hear from R U OK? Day Ambassador Barry Du Bois, who shared his personal story and reminded us of the role we play in looking out for those at home, at work, and in our communities. Over my first 4 months at #GrainCorp, I’ve been inspired by the passion of our people, their dedication to living our values, and the way #WeCare for each other, every day. It was fantastic to welcome Barry to our office and provide our people with a chance to ask R U OK? ahead of the busy harvest period just around the corner. I encourage you to take an opportunity today to check in with a colleague. Every conversation matters! #RUOKDay #OurPeople #OurCommunity

Funding drive for farmers in need 🌾 For the fifth year running, the Long Drive for Drought convoy of classic 40 series Toyota Landcruiser’s travelled through outback Queensland, visiting 18 towns covering nearly 3,000 kilometres. Along the way they raised vital funds for Farm Angels, a charity that provides essential support to farmers and their families, from mental health assistance to everyday necessities. Our Gladstone Port Operations Manager, Jeff Moodie, took part in the journey for the second year running. “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time on the road, it’s been a humbling experience travelling through all the different communities raising money for such a great cause. “It’s made it extra special that we’ve been able to pass our target of $100,000 and I’m thankful that GrainCorp has supported me to participate in the drive,” says Jeff. The journey has made a real difference in the lives of rural communities affected by drought and other challenges, while also raising awareness about the mental health and daily struggles faced by farming communities.
