A commonly overlooked aspect of a vibration monitoring system installation is the quality of the #sensor mounting. It's common to find sensors placed in positions that prevent optimal #data transmission and limit their full frequency response. Generally, a 2-pole magnet provides a frequency response up to approximately 5kHz, a flat magnet up to around 7kHz, and stud mounting on a prepared surface can exceed 10kHz. 🏭 Pulp Fact: How Waites Saved the Day for a Pulp and Paper Giant 🏭 A leading paper and pulp manufacturing company faced challenges with equipment reliability across multiple facilities. Their critical components, including motors, pumps, and fans, were at risk of unexpected failures, potentially leading to costly downtime. In a recent case, our analysts detected increased vibration on both motor bearings of a vacuum pump train drive at the company's facility. Our #sensor on the motor picked up concerning vibrations, typically indicating lubrication issues or potential bearing wear. Upon inspection, the maintenance team performed a normal lubrication cycle for the motor. This timely intervention significantly reduced the vibration levels, returning them to the normal operating range.
