The University of Hong Kong retained its position as No.2 in Asia and The Chinese University of Hong Kong moved up four places to 6th while City University of Hong Kong climbed seven places to enter the top 10. Fun, adventure and fundraising converge at the Oxfam Trailwalker 2024 (Nov 15 - 17), one of the largest annual fundraising sports events in Hong Kong. Teams of runners will tackle some of the city's highest peaks along the 100km MacLehose Trail course within a 48-hour time limit. Added to this year's race is a special 40th Anniversary Edition route covering 40km of scenic hiking trails. The MacLehose Trail was listed on National Geographic’s “World’s Best Hikes: 20 Dream Trails”, as it unveils spectacular mountains, valleys and beaches across the New Territories. Raining sixes! The Hong Kong Sixes was back in full swing at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground (Nov 1-3). Staged after a 7-year hiatus, the tournament was much welcomed by fans who got a chance to see teams from leading cricketing nations in action over 3 glorious days of cricket, with staggering sixes sailing into the stands. After a hard-fought campaign, the master blasters of Sri Lanka lifted the trophy, beating Pakistan by 3 wickets to claim their second championship trophy in this tournament. Top WTA tennis action returned to Hong Kong for the second time in a month, with No.1 seed Diana Shnaider of Russia easing past British No.1 Katie Boulter 6-1, 6-2 in the final to clinch the Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open title at Victoria Park on Nov 3, her fourth WTA title of the year. The doubles final was a hard fought affair with Ulrikke Eikeri and Makoto Ninomiya defeating Japanese duo Shuko Aoyama and Eri Hozumi 11-9 in the tiebreak game, which was sweet revenge for Ninomiya who finished runner up at the WTA 125 event at the same venue early last month.
