Australia is facing a significant apprentice shortfall, with recent figures estimating a gap of 20,000–25,000 apprentices in training. This shortage poses a challenge for businesses across industries, impacting growth, innovation, and long-term workforce sustainability. As a national provider of Apprenticeship and Employment Services (AES), IntoWork Group continues to support workforce development by connecting apprentices with businesses and industry leaders, supporting more than 1,000 apprentices each year in completing their training and entering skilled roles. With a presence across Victoria, NSW, WA, ACT, Queensland, Tasmania, and regional areas, we remain focused on strengthening apprenticeship pathways through pre-employment programs, tailored support and partnering with businesses, government, and community organisations to drive workforce solutions. Recent success stories from OTG Hydraulic Design and Hunter St Hospitality highlight the value of structured apprenticeship pathways in building resilient businesses and a skilled workforce. As we navigate the evolving employment landscape, IntoWork remains committed to fostering opportunities that bridge the skills gap and support economic growth. We believe real progress happens when opportunities are open to everyone. This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the incredible women across our organisation, those we work with and support, and all women forging paths in workplaces and industries everywhere. The 2025 theme, ‘For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment’ has been reflected in our work in ensuring inclusive access to education, employment, leadership and the freedom to choose your own path to a Vibrant Future. Women continue to break barriers, challenge norms, and redefine what leadership, skill, and success look like. This year’s theme reminds us that progress is a shared responsibility. We all have a role to play in building a future where every woman and girl has the chance to thrive. Today, and every day, let’s celebrate, support, and stand with the women shaping our workplaces and communities. We have officially opened our Help Nursery in Moreton Bay! An exciting step forward in expanding our social enterprise footprint and creating more meaningful employment opportunities for people with disability. With Moreton Bay’s rapid growth, this new site will support local procurement of high-quality plants while training and employing people with disability in the horticulture industry, helping them take the next step into their employment journey and towards greater independence. This site expands our current Nursery based at Mitchelton where we stock, grow, source, and nurture an extensive range of wholesale plants - from ground covers and natives to rare and exotic varieties. A special thank you to the Federal Leader of the Opposition and Member for Dickson, The Hon. Peter Dutton MP, and the City of Moreton Bay Councillor Cath Tonks for joining us at this special event. We’re also grateful to the City of Moreton Bay Trade and Investment Team and Cedar Glen for their invaluable partnership in making this project a reality. Watch the highlights and see how we’re growing both plants and opportunities! IntoWork Australia Brenden Brien #OneDoorToOpenMany #VibrantFutures #HelpNursery #SocialEnterprise

Last week, the IntoWork Group’s extended leadership team gathered for our annual workshop, centred around the theme: Creating One Vibrant Future. This is our shared commitment to drive positive outcomes for the individuals, businesses, and communities we serve across Australia and New Zealand. Over the three days, we were inspired by thought-provoking guest speakers, valuable insights from our leaders and forward-thinking workshops that will set the tone for our diverse businesses for year to come. We took the time to reflect, learn, and collaborate, focusing on how we can continue to grow, adapt, and make a lasting social impact. AGA celebrated the launch of their Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) today with a ceremony unveiling a powerful new artwork. The RAP represents AGA and IntoWork's commitment to fostering a culture of respect, inclusion and understanding. This is a significant step in our journey towards reconciliation. Congratulations to the AGA team and all who contributed to the launch.
AGA is proud to launch our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) to strengthen and support our ongoing commitment to reconciliation in Australia. Today, we celebrated the unveiling of AGA’s RAP with a gathering of AGA staff, the IntoWork Group, and representatives from local community groups across Melbourne, with Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony by Wurundjeri Man Colin Hunter Jnr accompanied by Didgeridoo Player Ganga Giri. The RAP features a powerful artwork by renowned Gunaikurnai artist Alfred Carter, titled "Gunaikurnai – Retaining our Culture, 2024”. This vibrant mural, now displayed in the foyer of our Deer Park offices celebrates AGA’s deep connection to the Gunaikurnai nation, also known as Gippsland. The mural symbolises the five rivers of Gippsland and depicts elders from each clan coming together to share their knowledge and traditions. Alfred Carter, a proud Gunaikurnai man and post-release artist with The Torch, draws inspiration from his grandfather and focuses on culture, ancestors and Country in his work. “I lived with my grandfather for a couple of years when I was young, before he died. He would make boomerangs and didgeridoos the traditional ways and his brushes out of animal hair, and he would make his paint from scratch. He is my idol,” Alfred said.
