👏👏What an honour to be recognised by Energy Networks Australia and on the shortlist for the 2024 Consumer Engagement Award! 👏👏 As a part of Jemena’s Electricity Network’s 2026-31 Price Reset, a comprehensive engagement strategy was developed and implemented over 18 months to shape the future of our electricity network. We created six dedicated Customer Voice groups for customers experiencing vulnerability. Undergoing this process meant Jemena has greater insights and increased knowledge of our customers’ needs. Customers told us they felt like they were being included, heard and having a direct influence on the future of Jemena’s electricity network. That’s a win-win for both parties! Jemena’s Major Users Customer Forum is always a great opportunity to bring together NSW’s largest gas users for information sharing and networking and this year was no different. In the morning, attendees took a tour of the Malabar Biomethane Injection Plant. It was helpful for customers to see the process in action, and it sparked valuable discussions about the future of renewable gas ahead of the forum itself. The event brought together speakers from across Jemena including Managing Director, David Gillespie who spoke about the current state of play and how Jemena is navigating the energy transition while at the same time ensuring our customers have access to reliable gas. A huge thank you to all who attended including our external speakers from Valorify, Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), Ramboll, Future Fuels CRC and Energy Users Association of Australia #RenewableGas #biomethane #EnergyInnovation #Networking #FutureOfEnergy

Have your say and go into the draw to win an Eftpos gift card valued at $1,000!! Our customers are at the heart of our business, and they told us what was important to them when preparing for the future of our electricity network in north-west Melbourne. We heard their views and have developed our Draft Plan for the financial years 2026 to 2031 that sets our pricing and services. We have engaged deeply with a diverse range of customers who have given us rich insights into the role we can play as we transition to a more sustainable energy future. We're now seeking feedback on this Draft Plan to ensure all voices are heard. If you'd like to help shape our Draft Plan complete the survey by Monday, 16 September 2024. Our Draft Plan aims to respond to the set of recommendations our customers made, and will: 🔵ensure all customers receive an average two per cent reduction in distribution charges during the next regulatory period (excluding inflation). 🟢create an efficient and sustainable solution that incorporates the latest technologies to strengthen the safety and security of our electricity network 🔵develop resilience initiatives to withstand and recover from more extreme events 🟢develop simple and accessible content to improve customer communications 🔵utilise technology to help educate customers on what we do and increase energy literacy. We welcome your feedback by Monday, 16 September 2024. Take the survey now! Visit https://lnkd.in/gKryqQfZ #Energy #consultation #electricity #electricitycustomers #customers #survey #victoria

It was great to host Kim Curtain, Deputy Secretary of the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water and senior colleagues at our Malabar Biomethane Injection Plant recently. We welcome the release of a discussion paper by the NSW Government on the development of a renewable fuels industry in NSW, and look forward to working with the Government to develop a thriving local renewable gas industry. We see renewable gases, such as the biomethane already being produced at Malabar and injected into our NSW gas network, as having an important role to play in achieving emissions reduction goals, particularly for the NSW industrial sector. Our Managing Director David Gillespie recently sat down with Forbes Australia to discuss the future of energy in Australia, the role biomethane can play, and how he gets a few quiet laps in at the local pool. Forbes Australia’s August Edition ‘Inclusive Capitalism’ focuses on purpose driven leadership and businesses that are bringing more to the table than just financial performance, including those that are investing and focussing on ESG and making positive impacts both in the office and externally. Today we released our Modern Slavery Statement for 2024. It’s important to us that we minimise the risk of people, being exploited or harmed with the goods and services we use daily in delivering gas and electricity to our customers. This document outlines the steps we took in 2023 to assess and address those risks. Our major focus last year was better understanding our supply chain tiers. To help us with this, we partnered on a pilot program with Fair Supply. This provided us access to an ESG risk management and compliance platform that included data across industries and countries to help us better identify, mitigate and manage modern slavery risks. You can read more about this, as well as the other actions we took in 2023 here: https://lnkd.in/gkUUZDdM

We’re a founding supporter of Foundation to Future – a new initiative supporting Aboriginal people in the Northern Territory into meaningful work. Our Executive General Manager, People, Safety and Governance Craig Ypinazar was recently at the Foundation to Future launch with our partner, Saltbush Social Enterprises, who will be giving enduring support to job-seekers, ranging from initial self-esteem and life-skills development, through to jobs and career exploration with intensive mentoring and support around employment choices and beyond. We’ve been a proud supporter of Saltbush dating back to 2016, as part of our Reconciliation journey, and we’re particularly proud to support them as they seek to make a step-change in the lives of Indigenous people in the NT, through providing tailored, personalised support.
