Risk & compliance and distribution roles remain resilient, with focused demand for specialised skill sets despite broader market challenges.   In the executive job market, we’re seeing an oversupply of highly skilled candidates. This, coupled with ongoing industry restructures, has led to prolonged job searches for executives. At the analyst and senior analyst levels, there’s a unique imbalance—candidate application volumes are high, but finding candidates with the right skills and experience remains a challenge. As one Super Fund noted, “We had 900 applications for an investment analyst position,” underscoring the disparity between quantity and quality in candidate pools.   Despite this influx of applications, many roles still require proactive headhunting to secure the right talent for our clients. Identifying candidates with the precise expertise and cultural fit is essential in a competitive landscape where quantity isn’t translating to quality.   This quarter’s trends highlight the importance of strategic recruitment approaches, emphasising the need for a tailored and proactive search to meet clients’ specialised requirements.
