Let's Koh

About us

Koh was established in 2016 in Bondi, Australia by co-founders and fellow Dad’s Adam Lindsay and Justin Alexander. Their vision was to create a cleaning system that was better for our homes, families and planet by removing unnecessary chemicals, overconsumption and single use plastics that usually went hand-in-hand with the cleaning category. Our formulations are certified by GECA and created to be a better alternative for allergy and asthma sufferers, as endorsed by the National Asthma Council Australia’s Sensitive Choice program. Innovation driven by the betterment of our customers and planet is at the heart of what we do. Our award-winning refill pouch design is the first of its kind as it is 100% kerbside recyclable, and our cleaning solutions are designed to be truly universal - with multiple uses across the home to replace the need for a cupboard full of products, with formulas that are proven to actually work. The Koh cleaning system includes essential tools that not only give our customers a better cleaning experience, but are refillable, reusable and machine washable to reduce consumption of single use plastics. With the help of our customers we’ve reduced the need for over 25 million single-use plastic trigger sprays and removed over 10 million litres of toxic cleaning chemicals from entering our waterways. Koh commits to supporting social and environmental causes that are close to our heart. For every order placed we plant a tree on our customers behalf, we’re currently at 1.2 Million trees planted and counting. We have also donated over over 1 million dollars worth of product to Aussie communities in need. With over 1 million Aussies in our Koh-mmunity - together we’re creating a cleaner, happier home and planet.

Two years ago we launched an Australian Dishwashing category-first with Universal Dish Liquid, a dishwashing foam that was applied to dishes using a spray bottle, then rinsed. The idea was to save Aussie's sink fulls of water by providing them with an effective solution that banished the dreaded overnight soak. It's been two years of analysing data and listening to our customers through ongoing surveys and research, where we ultimately uncovered our cutting edge innovation was a little too... innovative. The Australian market just wasn't quite ready for the huge behavioural shift a dishwashing foam required which meant we weren't satisfying our customers needs, who really just wanted something that was a little more traditional, but with Koh's safe, simple, sustainable & super effective DNA. As a business whose success can be directly linked to our loyal customers and award winning products - these insights signalled the need for an upgrade. Cue over a year of product development, reformulation and many (many, many) trials. We finally landed on our new, and very improved, Koh Dishwashing Liquid. We kept the biodegradable enzymes that delivers an eco dish liquid that *actually* works but delivered it in a formula better suited our customers needs, at a price that also suits them better (who can say no to an upgrade and a price cut!) Dishwashing Liquid is also the second addition in our transition to the bag-in-box format for our solutions, now joining our beloved 4L Universal Cleaner and its new 2L version. Keep your eyes peeled for more innovation, and more solutions to join Dish and Surface in our iconic bag-in-box packaging. Learn more about our new Dishwashing Liquid here: https://lnkd.in/g2AdN9kG

It's no secret that this year we've been investing in brand marketing more than ever; a big decision 8 years in and for any business that is primarily e-commerce. If your business is thinking of taking the leap into brand marketing, have a read of this case study by the team at Tracksuit with our Head of Brand Siobhan Spark to learn how we managed to grow our brand awareness by a whopping 32% quarter-on-quarter and the tangible impact this had on our digital metrics... there's nothing quite like a win-win when it comes to growth 💪 Thanks to the awesome team at Tracksuit - Tyrone Cummins and Elly Strang. Tracksuit is a must-have for brand health tracking, these guys are changing the industry one dashboard at a time. https://lnkd.in/g-2dNVjE

How can you quantify brand love and loyalty for over 1 million Aussie e-comm customers? It's as simple as running a 50% off promo at Woolworths Supermarkets and seeing tens of thousands of products flying off the shelves in a matter of days. A little over a year ago Koh took the massive leap of leaving our familiar e-commerce world and ventured into retail, embarking on a partnership with Woolworths. Through this partnership we've proudly done what few e-commerce brands have; we've translated a digital success story into a retail one. Culminating this week in Koh's Universal Cleaner topping the charts in weekly sales for a single SKU in Woolworths. Thanks to our Woolworths Group partners Nicole Davis, Richard Jones and Andrea West Jones for another successful activation - we’re revolutionising the cleaning aisle!

A huge thank you to Koh for being a generous donor of brand-new cleaning products to vulnerable communities since 2020! Koh's ongoing support has made an incredible difference in the lives of many Australians in need. With the cost of living crisis making high-quality cleaning products increasingly out of reach, Koh’s generosity is helping us combat hygiene poverty across Australia. We are deeply grateful for their commitment to making a positive impact. #EveryoneDeservesHygiene #BringingGoodTogether #CircleOfGood #HygienePoverty #ThankYou

If you haven't already heard... July is Plastic Free Month, encouraging everyone to ditch single-use plastics. Koh is all in on reducing plastic consumption every day of the year, without putting the burden on our consumers shoulders. We make doing your bit as easy (if not easier!) than buying from our single-use counterparts. 😉 Read more about our reduce, reuse and recycle ethos and strategy on the blog here: https://lnkd.in/gMeJEcua

Meet Klara von der Mühll, new to the team and managing our six warehouses internationally. We sat down with Klara and asked her why Koh - it's all about the comb ;) What was it about Koh that had you wanting to join the team? The reason I was attracted to work with Koh was due to its commitment to sustainability and innovation. Koh is known for its innovative cleaning products that are not only effective but also environmentally friendly. Not to mention a lesser need to buy multiple products to clean the home. Favourite Koh Product? My favourite Koh product must be the Universal Cleaner. I use it on all materials, and it works great, leaves no traces behind! I must also say that I am a bit of a fanatic of the grout brush, never knew I needed it in my home until Koh.
