We caught up with some of our Emergent Talent Program participants to hear firsthand about their experiences. Whether it was gaining new perspectives, developing resilience, or finding the confidence to lead, each story shows just how impactful the program has been in shaping their personal and professional growth. Through a mix of hands-on learning, mentorship, and real-world challenges, they’ve walked away with skills they can carry forward, not just in their careers, but in everyday life. For them, Emergent wasn’t just about learning—it was about transformation. At Lion, we believe in unlocking your potential to grow and succeed, and these stories prove that the right program can truly make all the difference. #dontsettleforordinary #emergent #leadership #leadershipdevelopment courtney forde Samuel Cunningham Dominic Mellsop Kaitlyn Hargans Victor Gouws Emma Quinn

This month, we proudly unveiled a vibrant mural at our York Street office which showcases the work and commitment of three of our amazing employee resource groups; Women at Lion, Pride at Lion and We Belong at Lion. It was launched by our Employee Resource Group Co-Chairs and Lion’s Chief People and Transformation Officer, Alicia Purtell as part of Lion’s inaugural Day of Inclusion. At Lion we strive to build an environment where everyone feels that they belong and can thrive. This mural is an important symbol of Lion’s dedication to inclusion and a permanent reminder of our commitment to equality and belonging.

At Lion, we believe in fostering growth and innovation. Our most recent talent development program, Emergent, gave participants the chance to master critical skills, broaden their impact, and become the best version of themselves. Over six months, participants accelerated their leadership journeys, expanded their networks, and shared experiences that shaped their professional growth. They partnered with industry leaders like Mojo by Ben Crowe to find their purpose, developed emotional skills to lead more resilient and fulfilled lives with The School of Life, and earned a Critical Thinking Micro-Credential through Deakin Co. These experiences helped participants challenge the status quo, explore their values and unlock new ways to influence and lead. The program was topped off with the team coming together to celebrate at our very own Four Pillars Lab in Surry Hills. This program was an incredible opportunity for our emerging leaders to craft unique career paths and learn to win in both work and life. Mojo Crowe The School of Life Australia

Today, we officially commissioned a Reverse Osmosis Water Recycling Plant at our Tooheys brewery in Lidcombe – not only the largest brewery in NSW, but the biggest in our Australian network. We estimate that this plant will save us some 270 million litres of water annually – equivalent to 5.3 million kegs or 108 Olympic-sized swimming pools! We’ve invested some $7.2 million into this plant, which we expect will help Tooheys recover up to 30% of water used during cleaning and pre-production which will then be used for non-food surface cleaning and cooling purposes within the brewery (not within the beer itself). Special guests and speakers at the launch today included Professor Leslie Phil Duncan, Galambany Professorial Fellow, Sally Sitou, the Federal Member for Reid, and Daniel Peacock from Sydney Water. Takeshi Minakata, President & Chief Operating Officer of Lion’s parent company, Kirin was also in attendance and proudly cut the ribbon. There was even a vibrant performance of the ‘I feel like a Tooheys’ jingle sung by the River City Voices choir – most of whom live a stone’s throw from the brewery in Lidcombe. The Tooheys Reverse Osmosis Water Recycling Plant is Lion’s second Water Recycling Plant. XXXX Brewery in Brisbane opened the first in 2009, which has resulted in an average of 282 million litres of water saved per year. Today’s launch has been three years in the making and we couldn’t be more proud of this important milestone and step towards our goal of achieving world’s best practice water conservation. Cheers to a more sustainable future! 🍻
