🎉 The MECC Auditorium is back in action! After months of repairs from 2023 storm damage, we celebrated with a packed house for The Gruffalo! Mayor Greg Williamson cheered on the reopening, with 17 schools and 2000 kids enjoying two sold-out performances. Huge thanks to Pathways to Performance, BMA, Glencore Hail Creek Mine, and Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal for making it all possible. Despite a challenging start to 2024, the MECC team handled every obstacle with professionalism and positivity. Welcome back, everyone! 🙌

#FunFactFriday Council has won a number of awards for best tasting water in recent years. Our most recent achievement was second place at the TracWater Best of the Best Queensland Water Taste Test awards at the Qldwater Annual Awards. We made it to the podium once again, not quite ready to give up a place after taking out the award in 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022. The sample was taken from the Marian Water Treatment Plant so a big congratulations to the team! Fraser Coast and Isaac Regional councils tied for the top spot – a big congratulations to those councils! We look forward to next year’s competition!
