We're excited to share our top insights from TOKEN2049 in Singapore. Here are ten key takeaways that showcase the current state of the crypto industry and Maple's position within it: 1. RWA Dominance: Real World Assets (RWA) remain at the forefront of industry discussions, with Maple recognized as a leader in this prominent category. 2. DeFi Renaissance: Both institutions and individuals are increasingly paying attention to DeFi, with adoption accelerating due to its efficiency and transparency. 3. Institutional Demand: We engaged with more institutions than ever before. Interest in our overcollateralized lending products is growing, driven by the consistent high yields and rapid liquidity we offer. 4. More DeFi Funds This Cycle: We’ve observed an increase in the number of DeFi-focused funds, particularly stablecoin yield funds. 5. Treasury Deposits: More crypto treasuries are depositing into Maple and Syrup, earning strong and safe yields on idle assets. 6. Brand Strength and Recognition: Both Maple and Syrup have gained significant recognition, impressing industry leaders with our growth and visibility. 7. Large Partnerships: Syrup has surpassed $150M in TVL just three months after launch, demonstrating strong product-market fit. This success has attracted interest from major players looking to partner with us to offer Syrup to their users. 8. Asia USDT Expansion: Our new USDT lending option has exceeded $35M in TVL in just two weeks, significantly expanding our presence in Asia. 9. DeFi Integrations: Syrup is preparing for several major DeFi integrations in Q4, with the first one announced yesterday with Ether.fi. 10. Largest Institutional Lending Platform: Maple is recognized as the largest institutional lending platform, positioning us for continued growth and product expansion. We're grateful for your continued support and excited about the opportunities ahead! -- For non-US users, access syrup.fi simply by connecting your wallet, and earn overcollateralised USDC yield with additional Drips rewards for committed capital. For US users, create an account and complete a short KYC and accredited investor check at maple.finance to get access. Best, The Maple team P.S. Haven't explored Syrup's USDT lending option yet? Now's the perfect time — there is still a limited time 50% Drips rewards boost available for early depositors!

Final part of a recent deep dive into the strategies shaping Crypto Lending. Yesterday Cantor Fitzgerald announced they're entering the space, see why more and more TradFi firms are paying attention.

STRATEGIC LANDSCAPE OF CRYPTO LENDING (Part 3) Brought to you by Maple TLDR: We cover differentiation strategies and the future direction of crypto lending. This part highlights how platforms stay ahead and what to expect moving forward. Differentiation Strategies In a market where pricing pressures are inevitable, differentiation becomes critical. Crypto lending platforms can stand out by focusing on: 1) Speed: Large players often take 4-6 weeks to onboard clients. We've tried to get this inside 48 hours if the necessary docs are available. As more TradFi firms enter, speed becomes more important for smaller firms to compete - anyone who's onboarded with a bank recently understands this is non-trivial. 2) Transparency: Monthly performance reports and on-chain verifiable data are hallmarks of Maple’s approach, fostering trust and accountability. 3) Customer Service: For institutional and HNW clients, personalized client support and responsiveness win deals. 4) Hybrid DeFi-CeFi Model: Maple integrates with leading custodians, allowing borrowers to maintain assets in native BTC without wrapping or depositing into smart contracts. This mitigates risks and avoids potential taxable events. 5) Tokenization: Maple’s on-chain loans are tokenized, providing interest-bearing LP tokens. This tokenization enhances scalability and liquidity, similar to the benefits from the successful tokenization of the basis trade by Ethena this year. More and more financial services will be reimagined as token products. Strategic Evolution and Future Directions Looking ahead, strategic integrations with centralized exchanges (CEXs) present a big opportunity. Several exchanges are creating lending markets. Partnering with DeFi channels helps the exchanges source inventory and volume (again, see the success of the basis trade tokenization this year which helped boost CEX volumes). Expect to see more strategic integrations between DeFi and CeFi players. As the market continues to mature, the focus will likely shift towards increased adoption of crypto assets as collateral (as big as RWAs have been, this has grown faster with more TradFi firms entering). This evolution will drive further innovation and create new opportunities for growth within the crypto lending sector. Key Takeaways: - Crypto lending platforms must distinguish themselves through speed, transparency, customer service, hybrid models, and tokenization. - Strategic partnerships and integrations with CEXs and DeFi channels will be crucial for future growth. - More hybrid CeFi + DeFi offerings Follow Maple for more insights. #cryptolending #maplefinance #DeFi #tokenization

Last week Joe Flanagan and I published Maple's Founders Letter for 2024. We take stock of progress this year against our goals of: - Differentiated Lending products; - Expanding access to broader DeFi - Revitalizing Maple's community Growth has been tremendous, with TVL back above $300m and over $300m in loans originated from Maple Direct. We also look at the launch of Syrup and the roadmap for the rest of the year including staking and the big migration. As always, we're grateful to the Maple community for its support, and the contribution of our partners and team members. Back to building
