To us, Mecone represents the need to find balance between human needs and the natural environment. It also represents how humanity benefits from the natural world and how conflicts with the environment can have major impacts. Why Mecone? We are highly experienced in the provision of statutory and strategic planning services, policy advice, urban graphics and mapping in New South Wales and Victoria. We are leaders in Integrated Land Use and Transport Planning, having worked on some of the largest and highest profile projects in Australia. • The NSW Government has released the Industrial Lands Action Plan which aims to deliver a statewide policy to secure, manage and monitor the supply of industrial land across NSW. The plan aims to categorise industrial land into state, regional or local significant land and will identify where infrastructure investment is required through the establishment of an Employment Land Development Program. This policy will replace the current Retain and Manage Industrial Lands Policy.   The Plan outlines four actions to be implemented over the next 12 to 24 months:   Action 1: Deliver a statewide policy for industrial lands to replace the existing Retain, Review and Manage Policies Action 2: Investigate planning policy to support the growth of state and regionally significant industrial lands Action 3: Adopt a statewide approach for an industrial lands supply pipeline Action 4: Establish an Employment Land Development Program to monitor and manage the supply of industrial lands and to coordinate infrastructure investment   Importantly, the Plan sets an objective for the new policy to allow for alternative uses for underutilised industrial lands with an initial focus on alternative employment uses. Other alternative uses including residential, will be considered subject to meeting certain criteria.   Mecone commends the NSW Government for implementing an Action Plan that aims to secure and deliver a future supply of development ready industrial land.   📑 For more information, visit the following link: https://lnkd.in/ghbG8pg4 #industryupdate #nswgovernment #urbanplanning

  • Mecone is pleased to have played a key role in helping Anderson Chatswood Development secure development consent for their mixed-use development at 54-56 Anderson Street, Chatswood. Last month, the Sydney North Planning Panel reviewed and endorsed the development.   The proposal will provide a high-quality, ecologically sustainable, development that exhibits design excellence. It seamlessly integrates a commercial and retail podium with new homes in in a design form that will contribute to the vibrancy of Chatswood CBD. The proposal will also provide positive public benefits through the provision of a publicly accessible through site connection along the western boundary, pocket park at the north of the site, affordable housing, public artwork and activated street frontages.   Mecone provided professional planning advice in the early design development, co-ordinated a competitive design competition, managed technical specialist inputs, drafted the statement of environmental effects, and managed all pre- and post-lodgement requirements with Willoughby City Council. Congratulations to Anderson Chatswood Development and the wider consultant team!   Truslan Group, AJC, Feng Xue, Alistair Smith, Kirsty Vogel
