We are Hiring a Community Engagement Manager for Midsumma Festival! We seek an experienced Community Engagement Manager to lead state-wide community strategies for Midsumma and Victoria’s Pride in partnership with Victoria State Government (Victorian Government), Victorian Department of Families, Fairness & Housing. You’ll build relationships, support artists, and ensure diverse communities are engaged across Victoria. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and execute community and regional engagement strategies - Collaborate on regional programs and manage project funding - Engage with councils, community groups, and stakeholders - Mentor grant applicants and promote inclusivity - Regional travel for program delivery and events Essential Criteria: - Experience in community arts and project management - Strong communication and multitasking skills - Commitment to LGBTQIA+ and diverse communities Location: Melbourne CBD & Event Sites Type: Full-Time/Part-Time (12-Month Fixed-Term) Why Join Us? 🌈 Victoria's Pride: Bringing LGBTIQA+ Celebrations to Regional Communities! As our friends at Star Observer, we proudly announce the support of twelve diverse projects as part of Victoria's Pride Regional Activation Program, supported by the Allan Labor Government. These projects will be launched across regional Victoria this summer, showcasing the creativity, joy, and resilience of our LGBTQIA+ communities. Minister for Equality Harriet Shing announced that recipients will receive up to $10,000 in support to bring their projects to life. From the 'Party in Pride' festival in Beechworth to 'Queer Cakes & Butch Bakes' in Castlemaine and 'Picture Me' in Warragul, these events will offer unique opportunities for connection, creativity, and community-building across the state. We are excited to present our 2024/2025 Summer Work Placement Program, an exceptional opportunity for students, graduates or anyone seeking a career change to gain hands-on, practical professional experience while contributing to one of Australia’s largest LGBTQIA+ cultural festivals. Participants will gain valuable insights into project and program development, community engagement, relationship management, and major event management. Areas of Placement: - Programming and Artist/Event Coordination - Arts Administration - Marketing, Design, and Communications - Ticketing and Presenter Services - Production and Operations Program Details: - Placements commence between AUG and NOV 2024 and run until LATE FEB 2025. - Full or part-time placements, with hours increasing during the festival period (19 Jan – 9 Feb 2025). Some hours may occur outside standard business hours. - Successful applicants will receive a $500 honorarium to support their involvement.
